Not really the maintenance, sa nakita ko SOP at drivers negligenge ang main problem.
Dapat managot ang driver dahil may mga nasaktan at napinsala pati na yun mga nahagip from outside!

Ever since nawarak yung isang pagon, mas lumala yung pila... 7 am pa lang umaabot na yung pila sa Quezon Ave Station all the way to Sgt. Esguerra/Bohol Avenue, except on weekends.

North Ave station...

Kanina yung pila sa quezin avenue, mother ignacia to sgtm esguerra at lumiko na sa panay avenue. That was aroung 8:30am.

Masyadong maraming tao, it's not sustainable. Kahit ano pa ang gawin mo sa infra mo nyan bibigay at bibigay din.

Kasi yung mga pulis, naghahanap na lang ng makakasuhan and leave it to the court to decide. Bawal mag isip ang pulis dahil wala din naman silang isip in the first place kung sino ang may kasalanan. Sa pulis, kung sino ang buhay, cya ang sampahan ng kaso. As for the MRT incident, DOTC has to blame someone kasi kung maintenance (which is you are correct) ang issue eh sila ang puputukan.

I just heard on TV that the salary of MRT drivers are about 20k+. That's a decent salary. Do they need special training? How does one qualify to become a driver.

Binagalan na daw takbo ng MRT to lessen the stress on the trains.

Sabi naman sa TV Patrol kanina 12k lang ang salary ng mga MRT drivers tapos contractual pa.

Unique. Talagang. Magisip mga DOTC officials. From 50kph down to40kph.imbis na makarating agad mga tao sa destinations, tumagal pa.IMO kung properly maintained lang Yun mga train.magkaaberya man hindi sunod sunod:devil:

Those drivers are their sacrificial lambs. IMO, guys who keep holding off the overdue fare increases for both LRT & MRT should also share the blame. You can't perform proper maintenance with budget constraints.

Hindi kinaya ng coupling yung bigat ng overloaded train kaya kumalas.

Not a maintenance issue there but a technical know-how issue. Kung driver ka alam mo dapat ang capacity ng hitch/coupling plus may manual brakes dapat yung disabled train..

MRT: Slower train runs mean longer queues

MANILA, Philippines—The Metro Rail Transit (MRT) trips are now slower. But would this mean a safer ride or more miseries for passengers?

On August 20, MRT trains started running at 40 kilometers per hour from the usual speed of 55-60 kilometers per hour.

The move was taken after a wayward MRT train rammed a barrier at Taft Station in Pasay City on August 13, injuring 38 people.
Atty. Hernando Cabrera, in a phone interview, explained that the slower speed of MRT trains is a safety procedure to prevent the overuse of the trains and the tracks.

“Our primary concern is safety reasons,” Cabrera said.

“With a slower speed, we will be able to lessen the occurrence of breakage and the overuse of trains and tracks,” he added.
Longer lines and waiting time

Cabrera admitted that passengers may have to endure longer waiting time and longer queues at the MRT’s 13 stations.
“The train availability will be lessened and more passengers will not be able to ride immediately,” he said citing more people would be coming compared to the availability of trains.

He said passengers should expect 10 to 15 minutes delay in the turnaround of the trains.

“But this is only temporary while we are undergoing rehabilitation of the system,” he said.

According to him, the MRT ridership has swelled to over 500,000 a day, far above its capacity of 350,000 passengers.

Taeng gobyerno to. Paurong. Yung ibang bansa pabilis ng pabilis ang tren, meron pa silang bullet train, tayo pabagal pa. Puro kasi sariling bulsa inaatupag eh kaya ilang pangulo na nagdaan wala pa ring development yang MRT.

kakaiba mag isip ang gobyerno natin, parating knee jerk reaction. andyan ang bawal sa bumil sa mall martilyo para iwas nakaw, bawal angkas sa motor ng hindi magkamag-anak.

tapos ngayon naman pababagalin ang tren. para siguro hindi masyado lampas in case mag overshoot na naman yung tren

Hindi lang nababalita yung sa lrt line 1. Pero madalas din ang delayed trains, no aircon trains, at code red wherein bawal magpa pasok.
