found this one floating on the river sa ilalim ng kubo namin. it looks like a lot bigger version of the one my brother caught on my last post. it has a small head. super bloated at nangangamoy na. my guess is it must've died elsewhere then inanod.

a closer view. the stomach has ruptured.

    kumain ng panis yan... hehehe..

Last Election Monday, pagdaan ko sa EDSA Northbound sa tapat ng Camp Aguinaldo, there were 2 soldiers na naka shorts lang at mukhang galing sa morning exercise nila.. hinihila nila yung buntot nung sawa na nakasampa sa pader facing EDSA, while about 3 are waiting na malaglag yung ulo, may hawak silang pamalo... Mukhang malaki yung sawa kasi dalawa na sila, hirap na hirap pa hatakin. Di na ko nagtagal kasi magcacause ng trapik.

malamang may sawa na ginawang adobo last monday. hehehe.

*cpsolt that's so scary!!! What is that area with floating trash? Aren't snakes attracted to damp, wet areas?

Can anyone help identify that snake?

^who knows sir sticker, maraming mga abandoned tunnel dyan sa loob na base na naging habitat ng mga ahas. libre ulam na yan. wawa naman.

that is along the banks of the Paranaque river sa may Brgy. Don Galo. Salt water sya na connected sa Manila Bay. my guess is that it's a lot smaller. namaga na lang dahil decomposing na.

    kawawa naman...

acrochordus granulatus or commonly known as file snake.
    harmless and non venomous.
you can commonly see them in petshops misnomered as "banded eel".
they are found in rivers, same with cerberus rynchops (dog face snake).
    ulit, wawa naman.

It looks scary because it's black.

I used to have a pitbull that killed a snake at our backyard or garden ata. I had the vet give her preventive shots bec I was afraid that the snake was able to bite her. I don't know what the vet gave her but she was limping after that injection. Now I miss my dog

    what preventive shots?
no anti-venin can save you or someone unless the venomous snake that "tagged" you was properly identified.
there are specific anti-venins for each venomous snake.
in the phlippines, anti-venins can usually be acquired at uplb.
so if you're bitten somewhere far from
uplb, better say goodbye to mommy.

I don't know what the vet gave e, basta my dog was given shots. It was not anti venom.

anti tetanus siguro? Or shot ng antibiotics in case of any infection?

ang alam ko pag maliit yung ulo, usually non poisonous; pag malapad compared to the body, poisonous. Tsaka the bitemark will have two large holes from the fangs.

Once pauwi ako sakay ng taxi, biglang umulang ng malakas. We were going under this huge tree when a snake suddenly fell onto the windshield. Pareho kaming kinilabutan ng taxi driver :D

I was thinking either of those shots nga.

I wonder where all these snakes from Metro Manila come from. I thought they only thrived in places that are still magubat. I'd probably faint if I were even 5 ft away from a snake.

There's a false coral snake diba? This is what I always keep in mind:

"Red and black, venom lack; red and yellow, kills a fellow"

    very good!

yung false coral snake na sinasabi mo ay kingsnakes and milk snakes.
both are common in the pet trade. tingin ka sa sulit dami dun.

btw, coral snakes are elapids while milk snakes and king snakes are colubrids.
