a took off from the shooting incident thread...

how do you avoid road rage? admittedly minsan and lately napapadalas na rin ang road rage ko, because of those stupid PUV drivers....

---totally stop driving (hire a driver)
---minimized your time, out in the street or behind the wheel
---take public transpo..(mahirap especially now that it's always raining)
---closed your eyes while driving (not recommended)

so can you share your secret to prevent or at least minimized road rage...

I put on my favorite cd.
I do not make eye contact.

^^^ Mahirap bro, especially if you're pre-disposed to having a bad temper. You react instinctively, hindi ka na nag-iisip. It's a macho thing.

But there are times na umiiling na lang ako and silently count to ten pag may nang-atraso sa daan. Hopefully, I can keep it up.

Yup, that's true.

I understand sir Galactus re the disciplined driver more prone to road rage...

Nakaka inis talaga pag meron tao who dont obey the same rules u obey

    For me, it's about acceptance.

    Ganito talaga sa Pinas e.

Many pinoys either dont know the rules or simply refuse to follow the formal rules. Keep in mind that most drivers here do not have formal driving education.

We may have a set of LTO traffic rules but many pinoy drivers operate on a different set of unwritten traffic "rules" that one usually gets (or learns) from driving around in Manila long enough

So i just accept the way things are... i cant change the way other people drive.

I would just stress myself out by getting mad at every undisciplined driver out there.

Ako, as soon as I enter the car, I pray.

I simply ignore those drivers and pedestrians that is displaying stupidy on the road. Iwas lang ako.

I also leave early para hindi ako nagmamadali sa byahe at para kahit masingitan ako, ok lang. (shempre hindi ako pumupwesto sa fast lane)

    Pag uwi ako, pray ulit.

So far hindi pa naman uminit ulo ko sa kalsada since 1994.

It's kinda odd but when I listen to hiphop/rap/rnb music feeling ko lagi enjoy lang. I'm in the process of becoming a better person, after all these years.

How do you prevent road rage? It's all in the head my good man, all in the head.

I invested in a good sound system that emphasizes on great sound quality. Music soothes my nerves and blood pressure, in fact whenever the going gets tough, I play a bit of Pavarotti or Sting :harp1: never fails to ease me up.

Go to side streets where there’s no traffic. Seriously, true, as long as no traffic there’s less commotion to reach.

i beg to differ. motorists here (im from davao) are actually more disciplined compared to our manila counterparts. i know what im talking about because i used to drive practically everyday from q.c. to greenhills when i was living there for over a year.

my brother who grew up in manila was even surprised that jeepneys drivers here almost always stops for him whenever he's on a pedestrian lane. kung nasa manila pa siya e baka sigaw at busina lang daw ang inabot niya. in fact, my friend from baguio told me that if you ever happen to encounter a 'kupal' driver there, then most probably the driver is from manila

    :peace:

I can attest to this one having been assigned in Davao for a couple of months. What's more, the taxi drivers are pretty helpful if they know that you're from out-of-town. Cheers to Davaoeños!

Whenever another motorist pisses me off on the road, I just mutter, "May araw ka rin." O kaya hinahayaan ko na lang na makalayo siya, to fight the urge na humabol. Then I imagine na mamamatay siya later in the day, in the most horrible and gruesome manner possible.

After that, ok na ako, at least until the next idiot crosses my path...

    sorry for the generalization.

But the fact still is --- most PUJ/PUV/Truck drivers already CAN drive when they came to Manila to work as drivers.

So they must have learned to drive somewhere else.

Ask any driver by profession where they learned to drive... most of them would answer "sa probinsya namin"

siguro, one way is to leave earlier para hindi palaging nagmamadali.
