Reminds me of when I was kid in Guam and we went to mass. My mom's friend was putting on make up before mass started and the priest happened to see her as he peeked out to look at the crowd. When he finally came out for the mass the first thing he said after greeting everyone was "this is a church not a beauty salon, if you are going to put on make up make sure you do it before coming here." He would even tell parents who had children running around "if you can't control your kids in church you need to learn how to discipline them so they don't treat the church as a playground". Of course he also had shortest mass because he just got to the point without the long stories during his sermons, if he felt people were doing the wrong things he would let them know it.
