seriously, sinasabihan ko in a nice and lower tone.

Sunday mass - a place to go after malling and before dining out.

in short, it has lost its meaning.

That's why people behave unchurchly in church.

nasanay nako sa mga ganyan and have become indifferent to them. wag mo nalang sila pansinin.

OT: jan ka rin pala nagsisimba i hear mass in both those churches, pero mas madalas sa st. paul.

there are chapels inside the mall, mass are held on some malls during sundays, some may say that the purpose is being defeated, however in my opinion, once you walk in into the chapel an open your heart to the word of god that is what really matters, if you instill and imbibe the word of our lord.

You can't change these people, it's either you learn to live with them or try to find a church where the athmosphere is more conducive for contemplation, or tignan mo din minsan depende rin sa oras ng misa. Kaya dun kami sa last mass 8pm-9pm most of the time mas disiplinado ang mga tao.

i completely agree with this. somebody once told me that we are the only Catholic country in the world that allows masses inside malls. i don't know if it's true but if it is it's a pretty clear indication of how we compromise our faith for our convenience. and yes discipline has always been a problem with us. simply because the rules aren't convenient

I don't think it matters where the mass is held as long as solemnity is observe during the mass.

It's the behaviour of the mass attendees that matters.

One time nasa church ako. Pag na-luhod, lumalabas yung garter ng t-back niya.

    Hirap magdasal pag may distraction.......

Another observation is some people not dressing up decently for Church... I once reminded my brother when i saw him at Church wearing slippers (slippers ko pa suot nya... mokong :P).

In our Parish there are already "monitors" who help ensure that everything goes about orderly and the people have learned to adapt... although syempre may mga pasaway pa rin.

I think the main reason for having masses in the mall is to reach out for people who prefer to stay in the mall rather than go in the church.Yon lang po.

Here, it's still very solemn. Early Mass on Sunday is 8:30 am with another at 10:00 am. My daughter has Sunday school (in the same church) from 8:30-9:30 am. So, my day starts earlier.

We don't do anything else until after Sunday Mass. I'm pretty good with attending Mass although sometimes I wished it was the old days when we recited Psalms and Praises instead of singing them. Since we started singing, Mass has been at least 15-20 minutes longer. He He. Whoops.

But here, most churches are in residential areas far away from business establishments. Must be a city ordnance for places of worship. I haven't seen anyone being disrespectful yet.

Add: When I was younger, my mom would take us to Sunday mass at Baclaran church very early before sunup. So, we were almost always seated at the front pews. It's hard to be disrespectful up front.

    Just don't mind them.

I am trying to develop a habit on not minding other people (e.g. like a cute baby is strolling down the aisle or someone is sleeping) by not looking at them and just focus my attention to the service (though sometimes sleep gets the better of me ).

The mass or worship service (as what we non-Catholics call them) is between you, your God and the other real worshippers.

In the end, who are these "attendees" trying to fool in trying to pass off that kind of behaviour as worship? God? :hysterical:

I think the main reason there is sunday mass in malls is coz the mall owners want God to bless their malls. Drive away evil spirits or malas... para malakas negosyo.

From the looks of it... it works.

    hehe

I was in a chapel. At the middle of the homily, a beautiful lady beside me lit a cigarette. I was aghast and almost dropped my bottle of Red Horse.

Seriously, don't be irritated but pray for them.
