    Your get up during interview is an added factor, ang mas importante lng you are presentable.

    I am currently working in a consultancy firm that handles immigration application we don't advise our clients to overdress themselves smart casual may do, of course with our assistance documentation is no longer a problem we make sure that all requirements are complied. Just make sure you are prepared for the interview coz with proper and complete documents simple question lng ask nila like sa client ko n embalmer to think wala xang formal education binigyan xa ng consideration ng consul at ang tanong lng sa kanya eh what else will you do in Canada...

    Your coconut shell is what matters most, just be smart enough to answer concerns of the visa officer but don't outsmart them ehehehe baka mayabangan sau denied k na. Basta confident ka sa pagsagot ng question khit minsan may.... sa docs mo eheheh maipapasa mo ang interview.

    Attire matters, but it's not the whole ballgame.

    What matters more is showing/convincing them that you're going back to the Philippines, IOW, hindi ka magti-TNT. On the US embassy website, there are a lot of good tips there, but with the usual disclaimer that even if you follow all of them to the letter, hindi pa rin kasiguruhan na mapagbibigyan ka.

    got my visa last April, pati wifey and lil bro nya nabigyan...basta presentable(polo and slacks, etc) kayo and you're honest with your answers. Syempre dapat may pang back up din kayo sa mga sagot nyo(papeles, marriage contract, employment cert, titles ng mga ari-arian/business, etc). In our case, we're prepared to show proof kung manghihingi ung consul, pero 5 questions lang tinanong sa akin, approved na ako, damay wifey ko sa approval ehehe, d na sya tinanong, naka tanghod lang sya sa window habang magkausap kami ng consul

    Just a quick question, how long are you allowed to stay in the us if you are granted a visiting/tourist visa?

    saka pala pag mga first timer and mga single entry lang ang visa na nakuha dito meron palang annotation sa visa mo, kung ilan months ka pwede mag stay..so kung naka annotate sa visa mo 1 month max stay eh di 1 month ka lang pwede....

    Thanks for the info, sa immigration officer sa point of entry (arrival?) pala na-dedetermine kung gaano katagal ang stay. I might avail of the VWP (Visa Waiver Program) though if i decide to visit some relatives in the U.S.

    dapat naman talaga magbihis ka kasi gumastos ka na ng 4,500 each eh

    first interview ko in the 90's I wore lightblue long-sleeve shirt + tie + office slacks. my dad told me to wear formal. and this is what happened, the consul asked us to line up like a family photography nun last parts ng interview, he smiled and then viola 10 years bawat isa kami.

    yun interview ko naman 3 weeks ago, I wore a Lacoste Plaid Polo + brown Marlboro Classics slacks + my most expensive brown leather shoes. yun pinakamahal sa arsenal ko ng damit hehehe. tapos habang nag-aantay medyo nag-popose ako sa surveilance cameras and medyo behave sa pag-upo. always pleasant looking at courteous. malay nyo may taga-observe na pala sila sa cameras pa lang to observe the applicants tapos iraradyo na lang sa consul kung pretender ka. while others were waiting, I spent time looking at the old B&W photographs of the US embassy with awe and amazement. kasi yun ang isa sa mga reasons ko pag tinanong ng consul, i'll accompany my wife who's interest is in photographing popular tourist scenes.

    i was also asked kung ano history ko, kung ano biz ko before and after and now. I mentioned this family business, an i-cafe (i opened an i-cafe mga 5 months), a computer supplier business, then graphics development. grabe nakakunot noo pa din yun consul, and then I mentioned my current business. umaliwalas ang muka nya. parang natuwa siya bec. I mentioned an American photolab franchise business na binili ko last year. kaya nga ngaun, kakausapin ko na ang Fedex, gusto gusto ko tlaga magkarun ng franchise ng Fedex. iba talaga pag may pangalan. and so yun they approved us. a week later, yun passport namin binalik via mail, 10 YEARS again!!!

    oo nga pala para dun sa mga mag-renew. dalhin nyo yun old passport nyo with old US VISA. all the while I was telling my mom na wag na nya dalhin yun mga old passports kasi pabigat lang pero hinahanap ng consul tapos may tinatak siya. buti na lang hindi nakinig mom ko sakin.

    =====

    meron nga pala nangyari nun time na andun ako, yun husband approved pero yun wife denied. sabay sila ininterview nun ha. what the consul did was he ask the wife to seat muna and he talked to the husband. after a brief talk, the consul told the husband: "i'm sorry, pls give this to your wife." yun passport ng wife bale pinapabalik pero sya approved. dun ako talaga natakot kasi wife ko first timer eh din and our number is near na. talagang parang maiiyak yung dalawa palabas ... kakaawa.

    I was working in Occidental Petroleum before, sinuot ko lang yung OXY jacket ko over my shirt. The consul just asked me if i work in OXY? Yun na! 10 yrs multiple entry visa na!
    Sabi nila mahigpit na raw ngayon. Sabi ng friend ko ay iwasan nyo yung mga Vietnamese/Chinese-looking consuls(no offence sa mga Tsinoy), suplado daw at madaming na-semplang sa interview.
