Are Oakley sunglasses worth the cost?

Guys help!! kasi mag bb-day ako sa jan. 5 eh nag babalak ako bumili ng shades eh 2 style lang nagustuhan ko, isa oakley at ung isa naman rudy project! kaso ung oakley is 20k eh ung rudy project naman is 8k lang! ok kaya ung rudy project kasi nde ko alam tong brand na to dahil wala ako masyado alam sa shades! what do you think guys alin sa dalawa mas maganda or baka may recommend kayong ibang brand?

Compare the lenses (anti-glare coating, polarized, plastic, glass) and the frame material (steel, titanium, etc) and if you like the style or not. You only have one pair of eyes, so get the best that you can afford.

We don't have Rudy Project glasses here, but whatever glasses I buy I always make sure that the lenses are polarized, with an anti-glare coating. I also like titanium frames because they are so much lighter than any other metal frame. Last year I bought a pair of Oakley X-Metal frames.

YES. Pero mapapaisip ka din. dati gusto ko talaga yung Juliet, pabili ako sa cuzn ko sa tateh, pero suggest nya splice na lang..
mag 3yrs na ok pa naman.

Magkano na ba ang Oakley Thump ngayon? May nakita kasi ako sa Octagon Computer sa Megamall, shades na may built-in mp3 player din. Forgot the brand, pero naglalaro sa 4.5 - 5 thou yung presyo niya. Naisip ko, ayos to ah, low cost alternative. May kasama pang extra lenses sa package.

grabe over priced mga oakley dito... hintay nyo nalng magsale ang oakley every dec ata un eh hehe i just bought an oakley prescription glass... i asked almost every optical shop na nagbebenta nung specific model na yun nsa 14K -14500 ang price range... nagpahanap ako sa gf ko sa HK, she bought it for only 9350. ung natipid ko pang gawa ko na ng lens un. hehe

last december 25, 2006 i bought myself a pair of rudy project kabrio, for almost 8K... but instead of getting the clip on shades for an addition 3K, i opted for the photochromic lenses, yun bang nagbabago depending on the UV rays... less than 2500 lang eh hehe pero d ko pa nakukuha kasi walang stock nung lens... kainis, nauubos na excitement ko hahaha

Overpriced and madaling magasgas ang lens. You're just paying for the brand.

ngayon ko lang yata narinig na madaling magasgas ang oakley. mine are uncommonly resistant to scratches and i thought they were all like that.

also, you're also paying for better materials - the frame, the lens, the research that goes into it.....it still might not be worth 20k or whatever but you are definitely getting more than 'just the brand'.

i bought a rudy project way back when i was in 1st h.s. 3rd yr. college nako ngayon. rudy project kerosene.. sulit naman.. hanggang ngayon gamit ko pa together with my serengeti aviator.

Madaling magasgas yung lens ng Juliet ko. I was told na ganun daw talaga pag "iridium-coated" yung lens. Unfortunately, lahat ng lens for the Juliet model are all iridium-coated so no choice but to really take good care of them. I just replaced the lens of my 3-yr-old Juliet last month, damage: P3200. Pero wala akong masasabi sa frame ng Juliet, matibay talaga.
