Kaya nga he should set the right priorities in life.... Sa panahon ngayon, maaaring hindi na sapat ang suweldo na P50K/month..... Looks like nagsisimula pa lang siya... In a short while with hard work (connections help, too), prayer and a little luck, he could be doing a lot better.

And, kaya nga importante pa rin ang mga magulang para tulungan ang mga anak na makapagsimula at hindi malublob sa dami at halaga ng utang....

Times are really a changing. I remember the time I first went into the workforce, almost two decades ago, the minimum wage was rought Php4,000 a month. Today, Php25k a month is just an entry level salary in some companies. That's what fresh grad engineers get in ours. Sure, the minimum wage is still low in the Philippines today, but those guys are in the unskilled or low skilled sectors.

The advent of BPOs in the Philippines has pushed up salaries. Experienced IT pros are easily in the Php80-120k/month range, and sometimes these aren't even in the managerial levels, just senior level guys.

    BTT

There are three of us in the family and our monthly grocery budget hits Php25k... but that's because we are all heavy eaters and we like to cook gourmet-style food (pasta, steaks, and cuisines from other places)... which is cheaper than dining out in places that serve similar food. Maybe we should stop watching TLC, hehehe!

Kasya kaya ang 1k/day sa food ng 3 adults, assuming that includes everything, hanggang cooking oil and condiments? Decent home cooked meals lang hindi kasama ang desserts like ice cream and cake sa kwenta.

Quickie assumption ko kasi is 1.5 kgs of meat per day and the balance ung recado, rice, at
