how much is your household monthly grocery budget?

do you buy it the usual way once a month or weekly?

mas makakmura ba pag weekly na lang mag grocery? grabe sa mahal eh pag once a month, I was checking the CC bills last night. P15k-P20k/month kami, to think we don't eat lunch sa bahay.

Mas ramdam mo actually if you go monthly. We tried it before nasa 9k lang monthly namin, and that includes everything na ... chicken, beef etc. etc.

But now, we do it when we need it nalang. Kapag bibili ng meat or seafood and gulay, sa palengke nalang. Mas mura pa.

We only go to the grocery to buy the not-so-important things.

we also tried gumawa ng menu kung ano mga lulutuin, for the whole week ganun din eh.

hinde na kasama sa gastos namin rice dahil nagpapakuha ako sa probinsiya monthly. so free na yun.

ang isang malakas napansin ko eh yun mga cleaning materials. floor cleaner, cleansers, tile cleaner, zonrox etc... parang every two weeks mga ito and this morning nakita ko nanaman meron list na ginawa yun mg katulong na dapat bilhin this weekend.

hmm.. this country is messsed up because too many people don't want to be truthful . I'm not talking about the utang you get every month to support your family from famiy working abroad but what you actually spend. the average salary in the philippines is $177 per month..pero we have people spending 20,000 mth on food.. sure.. my sister makes 50,000 USD year and she spends a little more than that every month ($600USD=25K) and she has 2 kids and herself.. people have 3 maids.. cige ne.. come on and be truthful maarte.. an average salary for an engineer grad is 23000 K month.. and you spend that much in food??? where you work? I work for a BIG company in HR and I know how much I make.. I"m paying 20K a month for a down payment on a house, I'll be done with it in January, and the extra expense is kicking my butt. I make over twice as much as a grad engineer and I can barely do it.. and I spend roughly 8000 month for food, with my wife and 2 kids.. I come to this site to look for answers, but too many people are just straight up liars about how much they make and really just need to wake up.

Dapat magsalita totoo or just don't speak.. that's my American tagalog for you.

inggit ka kasi mas malaki kita ng mga tsikoters sa iyo? do you think tsikot people are ordinary pinoys earning $177/month? e di sana hindi na tsikot.com ang name ng forum, sana kariton.com na lang! mga tao dito nakakabili ng milyon halaga na sasakyan tapos di kaya ang grocery na 20k/month? we are not you and you are not us, so turn green in envy little boy!

to answer the ts, for a family of 2 adults, 3 school age kids, 1 baby and 2 maids our weekly grocery is around 6k plus another 4k at the wet market, or total 10k/week. yung binibili namin sa grocery (usually sa cherry or waltermart, cheaper than SM) ay purely kids baon, breakfast food, snacks, milk for the growing up kids and milk ni baby, diapers, toiletries, laundry soap and other household maintenance items (i.e., zonrox, raid insect killer). we seldom buy meat or fish at the grocery kasi ayaw namin yung na-frozen na. sa market we go to farmers, fresh na mura pa.

as for S&R, hehehe pahamak yang S&R na yan! last month we went there to just buy US strawberries, request kasi ng bunsong girl namin. talagang specify nya ayaw nya ng baguio dapat daw US. ayun pag-check out 12k binayaran ni misis, daming nadampot na di naman kelangan.

my family's grocery expenses is worth 5K per week,s from shopwise, budgetlane and palengke items. Na observe kasi namin mag-asawa na pag tinipid namin yun budget sa grocery, kawawa ang mga kids, sa tingin ko tama lang yun 20K per month, dahil siyempre ang bilihin tumataas every month which you can't do anything about it. inoofset na lang namin kung di namin kailangan di namin bibilhin, kailangan talaga konting control lang sa things na puwede for some other time na lang bilhin. tapos may mga prizes kami nakukuha pag credit card ni mrs. ang gamit namin, just like last dec.2010 for every 3000 worth of grocery may libre kaming crispy pata sa max's restaurant which is not a bad thing. shopwise card niya nakaredeem siya nang 2000 pesos cash voucher. basta play it smart always be alert for some which you gain benefits.

mali lang info niya. $177 a month? mababa ata yun hehe. diba yung title ng forum tsikot so meaning if not all, most of the posters here own vehicles. kung$177 a month lang salary hindi magpopost yun dito kasi he will not be able to afford expenses that entails in owning a car eh yung $177 fuel expense lang yan per month pagmay oto ka, that's just for one car, naturally most posters here are in the middle to upper class

he also forgets that yung amount posted here is more or less an expense of two working parents. so let's take his example of php25k salary. if both pop and mum earns that so php50 total salary nila, then a 20k expense is no problem

grabeh lakas nyo. i dont regularly go to groceries. usually toiletries and other household non-food necessities than can be bought whenever needed. I use GTD methodology app in the iPhone to determine which is which is due to buy na.

canned foods and ready to cook brunch meats lang binibile namen sa grocery.

if i'm to compute siguro i am spending average of 6K for three months sa grocery coz i still use Citibank's card yun may 5% rebate to monitor.

dinner kasi i make it a point to take out or dine out to take advantage of the limited servings served kasi patulog na eh, di na ma-burn yun.

regarding lotions and stuff and other pang-cosmetics, usually si misis lang marami pero it lasts long na. the gym is a natural cleanser for the skin, no need for regular cosmetic lotions, ointments etc. basta make it a point to perspire 3-4 days a week, and it can do wonders sa skin.

snacks and chocolates and sweets, i make it a point to buy this only as controlled indulgence or reward for a task, so i dont stock up sa bahay.

around 15k-17k per month. me, wife, and 1 kid. gusto ko sana sa wet market para masmura kaso we just have time to shop after office hours kaya mall bagsak

and medyo mapili pa sa food yung 2yr old kid namin, so pagayaw kumain, labas pa kami hay...i hope when he gets to 3 di na siya mapili sa food

Kasya kaya ang 1k/day sa food ng 3 adults, assuming that includes everything, hanggang cooking oil and condiments? Decent home cooked meals lang hindi kasama ang desserts like ice cream and cake sa kwenta.

Quickie assumption ko kasi is 1.5 kgs of meat per day and the balance ung recado, rice, at
