I caught a mini-griptilian fever this season and added 3 to my collection. Also found a hard-to-resist deal on a Para2 spider

Guys if you were to pick among the three micro knives, as an EDC:

    1. Cold Steel Micro Recon 1
    2. Spyderco Byrd Robin 2
    3. Boker Keycom

The Micro Recon seems the best all-rounder, the only drawback for me is the lockback mechanism, parang di kayang i-close with one hand?

Very smart holed design on the Spydercos...pero mahal ^_^

Found an interesting Youtube video on locking mechanisms Lock Strength Test

Among the three, CS Micro Recon gets my vote.

The Boker is small. It can go with your keys. Are you OK with the size? If not, I vote for the Spyderco. Is that the G10 handle?

    Yes sir

At least from the looks of it, the Recon 1 can handle "chunkier" cutting work e.g. boxes. Pero cool talaga yung Spydercos ^_^

I make do with my old AF-issued knife. Less chance of slipping and cutting myself if I actually decide to stick it into something that bleeds....like gutting a pig, for example. Blood makes everything slippery.

My dad is a Vietnam vet. Me? Nah. Mostly desert. The only place I deployed to which have jungles is Colombia.

Man, you weren't kidding. If you ever needed to stab an Autobot:

Amazing engineering...though i'm not so sure how you're supposed to fight with this except for stabbing.

Spydercos don't have much of a hand/finger guard though, kinda iffy if you're doing a push cut/stab.

Now I know why someone asked me if I was a Vietnam vet. Gen. Robin Olds (RIP) carried a knife like mine with him. Hooo-ah.

A bit OT: i remember one episode of Modern Marvels(Spitfire episode i think) , a WW2 vet's plane got hit by a piece of shrapnel that set off his life preserver. He got pinned between the life preserver and the roof of the cockpit. Luckily he had a dagger in his boot and deflated the life preserver, and resumed flying. From that day on lahat ng kasama niya me dala nang knife ^_^

They are good and cheap beater tools that I just drop in my emergency kit of sorts. They are relatively the same except the pioneer has an awl and the cadet has a nail file. I plan to buy more in the future.
