Our 2 1/2 month old German Shepherd got an accident and suffering now from a dislocated hip joint. Our vet told us that there's nothing they can do about this since they can't bring back the joint to the socket anymore because of the fact "na nagkalaman na daw ang socket". Our fault was that we didn't bring the pup to the vet at once because we didn't think that it was a dislocation, we waited for almost a week. We are in so much stress right now, especially our Dad and most especially the pup because he always need a pain killer in order to relax. Does anyone here knows an Animal Surgeon? Or should I say that we really can't do anything about this problem? I'll be posting the X-ray films later.

IF you do find one recovery phase will be hard for you and dog- do you have the time, resources and what it takes to see this through
quality of life of dog is slowly deteriorating
consider "putting him to sleep" as an option
its part of responsible dog ownership

June 12th, 2006 10:37 AM #8Well, you can consider some kind of operation, even if the dog may be 1 leg short at least theres a good chance of a long life, just like some of the animals we see on animal planet sometimes...
I'm hoping for the best...

Suggesting to put our dog to sleep is like saying that we end up the life of a suffering brother or sister. Our dog is not just a pet, he's a member of the family.
