so tama lang pala na gawin nila yun since it's just business?

    Its not, kaya nga nakakabilib.

Imagine, kahit may insurance the family still grieving and emotions are running high, and here comes the doctor still charging for filling out a 1 page form.

So basically it just all boils down to business, no relationships formed in those trying times.

I agree, parang it lacks compassion.

I have high respect for those doctors who go to barrios and far flung areas. Vocation talaga yan. What I meant are the doctors from small, not so reputable hospitals in the city. May mga na encounter na rin ako mga doctors na sadly e questionable ang character. I know one that gives rx for s2 drugs without having NEVER seen the patient, that is from my personal experience.

I agree, importante ang reputation ng doctor. Referral naman talaga nakukuha doctor, I don't know anyone who just googles their choice of doctor.
the medical profession is a cross-section of humanity.
    may good, may not good.
we try to screen the applicants, but it simply ain't possible.

some of them fogging machines leave oily residue.

this may surprise you but there are people who call or go to a hospital's info desk and ask if there's a specialist available for the day

like "meron po urologist available today?"

    --

HMO patients only see accredited doctors right?

they can't choose who sees them

    those are not referrals diba?

i call them up by phone, askinf information like clinic schedule, specialty and hmo affiliations.
then i call the doctor's clinic for appointment.
some doctors have more than one hospital clinic, so's the patient can choose.

Oh, pag ER ko pala ginagawa yun (whoever is available) But for check ups, it's always referral

Re HMO, at least with our company, you can choose the doctor basta nasa listahan nila. Sa first job ko, any doctor and they will just reimburse all the costs.

Yeah pwede nga. I prefer referral kasi usually when they find out referral ka ni so and so, they take care of you better.

May instance lumipat na Dad ko ng hospital kasi my Mom knew the sisters and doctors in charge sa hospital and they have so much discounts and do NOT charge PF kahit admitted na. Masyado ng nakakahiya.

yes of course being referred by someone is better than being a walk-in stranger

kahit hindi doctor, kahit sa ibang transactions

syempre may special treatment pag galing sa kakilala vs total stranger

I remember also, my colleague, her mother already announce as doa however the hospital staff still insist injecting on something else to revive her and my colleague as them if there’s a chance they said no, then my colleague scold them on why injecting something that you know there’s no chance already... i guess pera2 lang...

Also, another friend... he will go operation and asked about the procedures, however the doctor qouted him on the amount... hehehe... pera2 lang talaga mga doctor, “mostly”... kawawa talaga pag walang pera sa pinas, hindi ma operahan or if my chance na free, haba ng pila... sa kakahintay ka mamamatay...

Same. Ito rin ginawa namin kahapon. Nilakad namin shores ng Panaon beach habang nanghuhuli ng crabs, sea urchin, clams.
