Eh bakit nga naman hindi na lang ginawang Mapua University??

Kung gusto nilang gawing University, why not stick with Mapua University at gawin Malayan Colleges ang collective colleges?

I never went to Mapua, I highly respect the students from that school but Im outraged about the change. :fire:

it is because MAPUA is "just" known for its engineering courses.

now that they want to be a multi-disciplinary university, they also have to give focus on their other disciplines and having a new name might change the perception that MAPUA is only good in engineering.

and as said in the report, the MAPUA name will still be retained but for the engineering college only.

Kahit na baguhin yang name na yan, ang perception nga mga tao eh magaling ang mga taga Mapua as engineers. Kung mahusay din ang Mapua students sa ibang degree, only the students itself can prove themselves as worthy graduate of a multi-disciplinary university. They dont have to change the name para lang makilala sila. Saka kahit nga ang ibang University kahit multi-disciplinary, mas kilala pa din sila sa respective field nila.
