sayang layo, pero its recommended to get a 1KVA genset, better to have excess power than strain the generator. Honda/Coleman ok rin to add to ur choices.

tnx sir, but the designer recommended those brands. Actually malapit lang, especially now its so nice to cruise sa NLE, medyo mahal nga lang toll fee.

    any advice??? tnx!!!

yes punta ka na lang ng raon marami doong shops na nagbebenta (just go there and you will see displays). saka try to search for other options other than the coleman. maraming mas magandang brands out there na japan made at silent type pa. yung nasa bahay namin hindi silent type at krudo ang fuel (for sale sya kasi hindi talaga sya pang residence type )

coleman? US? don't buy made in US, mahirapan ka sa parts. minsan pa nga merong mga brands na made in US na madali masira e. and the way those US brands go now, most of them were outsourced from china.

go for japanese brands when it comes to anything you want to rely on. yamaha makes good silent generators. kubota din. di man gawa sa japan e mas maganda quality control ng japanese brands. dami nga dun sa raon but make sure it is 60hz power and not 50hz. meron kasi ako nakita sa raon na mura nga yung generator (and also other stuff like electric drills and grinders) pero 50hz naman. pag 50hz ang i-supply mo sa 60hz appliances, especially yung may motors, e babagal ang andar*.

*pag baliktad naman, 60hz supply on 50hz appliance, masisira agad due to overspeed. so kung bumili ka ng electric drill at 50hz yun tapos sinaksak mo sa 60hz power supply e malamang masira agad.

For those who were able to invest in silent type gensets, kumusta, is it silent enough naman to not bother neighbors? Any recommended brands rin? Thanks.

i use a Coleman 7.5KVA genset at home, matibay at maingay since open type. i suggest you buy at least a genset with 5KVA capacity because 80% lang ang recommended load nyan..so if 5KVA e a little less than 4KVA lang dapat load ng genset. with my 7.5KVA coleman, i could turn on 2 split type airconditioners, a bunch of lights, a big 2 cabinet refrigerator, a PC and TV to boot.

regarding spare parts, yes mas madali hanapan ang japanese brands like Robin and Honda. but since we're a hardware depot, parts isnt a problem at all

BB,- is your genset gasoline or diesel-fed? Typically how much?

Ours is only 3KVA (gasoline-fed). Brand is Honda. It was very useful during the days of post-Milenyo brownouts, as we're running a bunch of lights, electric fans, a refrigerator, TV set, and a motor pump. However, I was hesitant to run our 1HP aircon as the initial kick strains the genset (it has an breaker switch though).....

Genset is about 8 years old. Got it brand new for about P20K then.

I've seen a lot of Robin and Denyo gensets (esp. in large, industrial sizes). Does this mean these brands are good? Any owner(s)? TIA.

I think mas ok ang Robin...china made is cheaper but parang disposable.

mine drinks unleaded petrol, approx. a little less than 60k i think.

sa 3KVA mo baka mahirapan na genset if ON mo pa ang a/c. approx. 2.4KVA lang ang rated output nyan and it is preferrable to use less than the rated output so as not to stress the genset. ok na yan as long as the essentials such as lights, ref and fans can be turned on

parang ganyan din ang ginagamit namin. Little gen set pero malaki ang naging pakinabang namin dyan during post milenyo typhoon. kinaya nya ang 4 electric fans, almost 300 watts of combined lights plus charger ng cell phone. ok naman nakatagal sya ng almost 5 hours straight tapos pinahinga lang ng 1 hour then another 5 hours ulit. no hang ups or hassle with the motor. it is a two stroke engine so expect it to be noisy and mausok. pero yung usok naman nababawasan habang tumatagal ang takbo nya.
