Hhhmmmmmm.....

My Dad never bought a gen set in the 90s. Everyone then had a generator because the brownouts were really bad. We just had dozens and dozens of those rechargeable lights and that Coleman thing na may net (maliwanag ha!) My Dad said it's not worth the money, it can't be maximized. Cost was not a problem and he can definitely afford to pay the unit.

I remember my brother would connect the TV to a car battery pa. hahaha. Pag sobrang bored na punta na lang kami sa bahay ng cousin ko, since we live close to each other.

Actually, its also an additional selling point (for those selling their houses)

Gen set para sakin is not about maximizing asset. It's the comfort it gives na kahit 1 month walang ilaw, OK lang.

Tama si shadow na its like insurance. Paying car, house, asset insurance is a waste of money until needed.

I have to be considerate.

hmm, you could offer to charge some of their gadgets to get on their good side ^_^

i'm really not optimistic about the short term power situation here. We'll be around 400-500 megawatts short by 2015, with a lot of condos coming online. i doubt if we can build power plants that fast.

Better make those deep cycle batteries sir, pag car battery masisira if fully discharged.

Yes deep cycle balak ko. Motolite solar master.

Guys, what's your take on a double throw switch instead of the manual transfer switch?

Di ba double throw uses traditional fuses? Yung MTS kasi circuit breaker ang gamit.

MTS is basically a circuit breaker so its safer than the knife switch.

Im making MTS for a small house, will be using mobile genset so the connectors are quick release..

There is another version of MTS 150-200Amps the interlock mechanism is inside the enclosure, somehow i find this external locks more secured.

Yes it does uses traditional fuses. A 60amp fuse would be safe enough to carry the load of 4 fans, 1 ref alternating with freezer, well of course lights and an ac. I was just wondering its efficiency over the mts, installation cost/effort, ease of operation.
