good brand kaso for occassional use of pwer tools yan, i meant na sa ibang bansa kasi pag gumagawa sila ng bahay di pa nakatap sa power line kaya nagdadala sila ng genereator for thier tools

15 k for a ryobi 1kv i would rather buy a gasoline gen which cost only 5 k- is it worth the extra 10 k, heck no if you ask me

^^^ i think the selling point of the inverters is that they are safe for electronics, like led tv. Meron kasi 2nd hand na ryobi 2000 selling for 16k.

ok, if you suggest buying a cheaper alternative, di ba maingay? Or can we install a better muffler? I need at least 1500 watts rated as i will be running the fridge on it plus lights and fans.

They are all safe in electronics. most electronics power supplies have wide voltage and phase plus large filters.

Good thing with conventional generators is that they are easy to maintain plus lots of interchangeable parts. Kung inverter baka walang support, kung masira at walang pyesa matagal-tagal ang downtime mo. I'm running 6yo 7.5Kv China diesel in the house, maingay sya pero may concrete enclosure kaya dampened ang noise. Sa farm i'm using mobile(yung nasa trailer) Perkins with stamford 33KV used to run large motor of tunnel vent. The building gets Johnderee 75KV.. All i can say iba talaga quality ng branded gens.

Regarding KiloVolt rating, IMO when chosing a gen its safe to assume 70% as safe load. Usually 0.8(others have 1) ang PF so kung 10KVA, 8KW ang max load pero bawas pa ng konti around 5.6KW ang safe load. This is useful esp when using inductive load w/c is the common household load (motors of pumps, elevators, compressors) para hindi masira kaagad generator o kukurap-kurap ang output.

Correct me if im wrong pero nalala ko kaya KiloVolt Ampere sa gensets ay dahil sa Alternating Current reactive ang power when loaded merong apparent at real power.. Para lang din antenna you transmit alternating pulse may feedback o energy returned from the absorbing media kaya kelangan mo ng filters.. depende na sa design kung leading o lagging to compensate the type of load - resistive, inductive, capacitive.

I think those ryobi's are surplus from australia. I have bought some surplus items from australia and their power supply are are rated at 220v 50hz.

Baka ganon din yung genset na yan.

I finally got a generator. Elemax (Honda) SH3200EX.

I decided to get this instead of the big ones that can power aircon units because after evaluation the cost of operation, this unit would prove to be the most economical one.

Pag yung big unit kinuha ko, (6500watts+), more or less I will be spending P5,000+ every 24hours of running time. Dito sa maliit, it would only cost me P1800 to make it run for 24hours.

So naisip ko, pwede na etong SH3200EX (2,500 watts nominal / 3200 watts max).

    It can power

    1 big ref (21cu)
    1 small ref (12cu)
    2 TV (50"+)
    7x electric fan
    15+ lights
    modem/router/internet system
    etc

Cost of this unit though is a bit high P45,000 since Japan made sya.

Iniisip ko Kung magdagdag na lang ako ako ng same KVA or upgrade to higher power rating.

I got it sa sta cruz, manila. In general, mas tahimik talaga ang Japan units (specially Honda) compared to China. The Elemax SH3200EX has a noise level of 68dBA. Even if parehas na 68dBA ang Japan at China, mas pino pa din yung tunog ng Japan. Yung China kasi medyo galit yung tunog nya.

shadow - did you also get the Elemax or the Honda unit? Ang Elemax kasi is pure Japan (both engine and alternator). Yung Honda unit is China made na.(Honda China). Mas mura yung Honda China unit kaysa sa Elemax.

Pero I guess nagmahal na ang mga generators ngayon since kaka tapos palang ng bagyong Glenda so lahat nag pa panic buying na ng generator LOL.

Post mo name ng store. Ang laki ng sta Cruz eh. Sa royal plumbing ka rin ba bumili?

This is what baffles me sa mga forums Kung tinatanong Kung saan binili ayaw I post yun exact name ng store. Laging general area lang.

Sorry hind ko kasi memorize yung store at nakalimutan ko na yung name so kinuha ko pa yung wallet ko sa kotse to get the receipt. I got it from Jombie Enterprises sa may Ronquillo Street. Sta Cruz Manila. (Malapit sya dun sa Church - dun ko pinarada kotse ko)

    San yung Royal Plumbing?

Exact same model din sya pre? SH3200EX? Swerte mo naman 30k+ mo lang nakuha. Anong year mo sya binili? Last year lang?

However, pag DX model sya, then that is the old unit.

As per their website: "EX series has 10% to 25% Increased Output Power Compared to DX series This power up is provided by newly designed Sawafuji square core alternator."

all this time i thought condo dwellers had it good during power outages; apparently the gensets usually just power the common areas and elevators?

Oh wow. i can't imagine how much watts is needed to operate an elevator. Yung lights sa condo madali lang pero an elevator might need a lot of power. I'm sure hindi lang din 1 ang elevator sa condo unit nyo.

Remember the blackout in NYC? Can't run gensets, can't burn for heat(happened winter), how to get up and down to your unit floor and can't use candles and to include water pressure problems.;(
