    in my opinion,
pshs is like the captain america serum.
    it amplifies everything.
it brings out the best, and the worst.
if you are up to the challenge, you become better.
if you are not up to the challenge, you become worse.

I've had two bosses na pisay grads. Parehas naman sila okay. Full professors both sa UP pero sobrang iba personality.

May family friend kami na their two kids are Pisay students. And yun din ang observation namin - sobrang dami ng school work, very little time to meet other people. Pati yung nanay damay sa pagkabusy..

Eh ako highschool inom inom na hahaha...got suspended for it...still got grades good enough for honors (but denied coz of the suspension)

Freshman to Senior . . . puro ligaw ligaw kuno hahaha . . cant imgaine my self not experiencing those .

Pisay students go through teenage years like all other students. I also got my fair share of reprimand for things I’ve done that I chalk up to part of growing up. 4th floor of our main building is infamous for all the hanky-panky that happens there.

Almost every day nasa Trinoma ako before, either date or kasama barkada. Ubos stipend (I was getting 2k/month from DOST) on going out and buying gadgets. In hindsight I could’ve used it to invest in stocks earlier, but siyempre bata eh. House parties also na may inom pag merong occasion. We would also go on road trips pag summer with my friends.

Also, have never involved my parents in school work in high school.

That’s such a stereotype.

Dami mo talagang problema sa buhay no? Sobra ka na nakakaawa. Lahat nalang pinupuna mo. Sobrang against sayo ng universa talaga.

Chillax ka lang dapat sa buhay. Not everything will go your way, pero dapat move on ka lang.

Have a life!

Nope. I've heard of Michael Buble but never listened to him. I think he only does covers?

Someone from reddt posted his reason on why he prefers to hook up with "Big 4" schools. I already mentioned that this is a preference for both men and women in that sub at daming affected. It's a bit of a long read but it's interesting to know a person's reasons din.

I don't think it's allowed to post the link here since it's an adult thread but those that are interested can I always check it out.

I thought that street was where the good restaurants are?

My thoughts on the "Big 4 for Big 4" hate on r/phr4r

This issue pops up every couple of months and it always stirs up hate towards these Big 4 types of posts. As a Big 4 graduate myself (28 M ADMU), I'm here to give at least my explanation and reasons as to why I put big 4 looking for big 4 on my r4r hookup posts. Note: strictly speaking, these are just MY reasons; but being around these people my whole life, I think it's fair to assume majority would agree.

    1. Tagalog Dirty Talk [EDIT Note: 1 commenter and 1 person in my DMs have already said they agree with all except this, so take this as you will. AGAIN, this is MY personal opinion. But for this reason specifically, my whole barkada and close friends agree so baka nasa mas conyo spectrum of Big 4 ako lol]

"Ang sarap mo!" "Ang laki mo!" "Yan! Ganyan lang, babe, 'wag ka tumigil." "Shet, lalabasan na 'ko!"

Sorry, it's just so cringe. But we surely don't use tagalog in bed. Of course not.

    2. It's not about the money at all.

UP, where currently tuition is as close to 0, is part of Big 4. All things considered equal, I would rather plan a hookup with a financially struggling big 4 grad than an uneducated billionaire na parang tindera lang sa divisoria kung magsalita o kumilos. And I assume it's the same for the Females 4 Males posts as well. Even if we're just in it for one night, syempre kailangan pa rin ng some sort of connection and that's just something that money can't buy.

So ano ba yang putanginang connection niyo na yan?

    3. It's the whole package that comes with being from the big 4 that we're after.

As said, it's not about the money. But it's also not about how we dress, how we speak, how we look like, or any specific singular thing that we could pinpoint out and replace the whole "About you: Big 4" thing with something more inclusive. It's about the similarities of the struggles and stories we went through growing up in the same bars, in the same malls, with the same conyo classmates, speaking the same colloquial expressions that was uso in our times, laughing at the same genre of jokes, dressed in the same shirts and shorts from uniqlo.

It goes the other way too if that makes you more comfortable - I tried to date someone from an unknown school (dahil lang sobrang ganda niya talaga) pero hindi talaga tugma. Edi sige. When I was an employee wherein majority of my coworkers weren't from Big 4, ako pa yung hinuhusga and parang minamaliit dahil sa pagka conyo ko raw. Kahit na sabihin mong eh *** lang naman habol, I don't think (or at least I haven't experienced) na mayroon talagang 100% purely just *** ang nangyayari whether fubu set up man yan or fwb or kahit one night stand lang. Syempre mag uusap pa rin kayo and syempre dapat yung usapan niyo at least hindi kayo na tuturn off sa isa't isa.

Are we guilty of generalizing? Sure. But don't you think it would sound 1000x snootier if we instead had to say some other **** to express what we really intend to say - like imagine mo na lang makabasa ka ng ganito: "About you: well-educated, can speak english well without a barok accent (BPO/call center accent is also not okay), is aware of the bars and restaurants in and around BGC / Makati, greets other people with a beso and a "Hey man/bro/pare/dude" instead of "uy lods/lodi/sis/sizst"" - because really, that's what "About you: big 4" translates to.

All of these reasons sound so entitled and closed-minded (and frankly they really are), but you have to keep in mind that that sub has majorly evolved to become an NSFW-where to find a hookup community. That is not some sort of social welfare community group wherein it'd be completely reasonable to call people out for being closed-minded and for intensifying his/her echo chamber by not exploring different walks of life. Hookup posts there are written out of pure lust and you shouldn't be annoyed if you don't qualify because of the preference he/she/they have stated. Ang dami pa namang ibang post dito. Sayang lang galit mo. To us, your rants sound synonymous to if you were to call this sub out for some other stupid **** like "bakit lahat na lang dito gusto kakampink lang eh kung kantot lang naman hanap niyo ano pakialam niyo kung bbm o dds ba yung tao."

I think that's all I can think of right now. What do you think? Did I make us sound more reasonable for our actions or did I create more divide? For fellow Big 4s, send me a message if you're a horny female and wants to hookup did I get it right or am I missing something? If you have anything to say or ask or kung gusto niyo lang ako murahin, I'm willing to take them all in my DMs. I'll update this post if I get multiple responses of similar themes.

Hahahah! You can't fault them for that kung yun ang kinalakihan nila.

How could that be e sa Pilipinas nakatira? Parang di ako makapaniwala so I told my office bff and she said mga pamangkin niya hindi din marunong magtagalog as well as anak ng officemates namin. Wtf?!?!

Re englsih sa kids, admittedly, I am guilty of this. We started talking to him in English eversince. We are starting to talk to him in tagalog na, but hirap pa rin siya.

hey, you're the reason why I discovered that sub, it's like a rabbit hole! hahaha! I feel for the guy, I don't think he should be downvoted for his preference. I agree with some of the things he said such as I don't like when a person calls me siszt or lodi?

Sometimes she calls me bakla. It irritates the hell out of me but I still love her. I also hate when she tells me "kalma lang" I'm calm naman

I assume your kids are still young? I think 10 and up matututo na rin mag tagalog kasi how do they converse with the help at home or school?

Yung neighborhood kids namin natatawa ako tawag sa isat isa brah LOL I think they are all 8 and below hahaha. It's like calling themselves pre.

    May matapang na nag agree

At the end of the day it is about preference. You can cast a smaller net actually, boil it down to big 4 + highschool I'm certainly a victim of circumstance, Xavier- ADMU married to a Poveda-Ateneo although we are much older.. I've only dated someone outside the big + private highschool once, needles to say it was the WORST 2 years of my life.

Bakit ba. Kung gusto mo na pag naguusap kayo about the past, nag FFF pala kayo at the same night. Even the mere fact that the Ateneo bell still rings in your head and your *partner" can relate is such a big plus Or how you can distinguish which highschool a person went to solely based on how he talks or dresses. Walang mali sa lahat ng sinabi mo kasi PREFERENCE siya. If I don't want to drink in Tomas Morato, it's just like a person not wanting to eat in a certain restaurant because of PREFERENCE. Y'all get off your moral high horse and stop screaming privilege to this man and Big4 r4r peeps.

Parang babae na gusto 6ft up sa post. Yun trip nila eh, walang basagan. Kudos to you for speaking up.
Totoo yan sa HS kasi sa first job ko, sa sobrang competitive ng job market, they also look at the HS.

Hahaha ako ba? We mght have interacted na pala in Reddit hehe.

My son is 9yrs old, & yeah when he talks to his friends online, they also say "bruh" haha. In school other subjects like PE, or Art, they're teaching it to them in Tagalog. I told the kasambahays to talk to him in tagalog na rin, but he still aswers in english hehe.

Does school really matter?
