Natuloy ba? Binalik ba niya yun bayad sa kanya?

This is what got me disappointed with JD.
Endorsements, that's part of his work. He built his reputation through the years and earned it; it's up to him to see how he maintains that reputation/
On another note, i got rear ended yesterday on my way to work. Based on the feed from the rear camera, i'm betting there's a high chance the driver was distracted (mobile phone perhaps).
"Cheap" nga, pero mayaman naman. A more mass-market approach always captures a broader audience and always gets paid more.
As everyone else is saying, he's just making the most of the opportunity. His fame can vanish in the blink of an eye, as it did with Vernon. He's lucky that his picture with BBM was swept under the rug very quickly.

Not everything is about money though...
Some people value dignity and integrity more than anything else. IMO he lost that when he became a sell out. That's just my IMO
Makes me admire my German boss even more. He refused a promotion because he values time more than money. He knows he will lose that once he gets promoted.
Si JD lahat ata ng endorsements pinapatulan.

Not everything is about money at pagpapayaman.
I better not make any negative comment about idol JD![]()
I understand why you have that opinion. If I were coming from your vantage point and had safety nets as large as yours, I'd quickly think that's cheap too. But again, cheap is not equal to lack of dignity.
Cheap? Hell yeah. Pero marangal yun.
Hindi ako Deakin fan. Never was, most especially not now after the BBM association. But I would gladly endorse urine bags or whatever masa product there is if it would mean that I'll have enough to provide a safety net for my children in the future.
I would expect that you would think Deakin is a sellout because he's no longer the conyo, malinis, stereotype that you probably liked about him before. Again, that's your opinion and I'm not at all surprised that you have that opinion.
But to call endorsing cheap products as not dignified, i.e. not worthy of honor or respect, that I will strongly disagree with you.

I think nagsimula kasi yan na parang sell out si deakin dahil parang concern na concern doon sa TNVS issue pero he was paid naman to defend them. Nothing wrong with it, tingin ng Grab and uber na siya ang Right person to defend their cause which is correct naman.
Pero sana meron disclaimer na bayad siya and we can't blame naman yun ibang tao isipin na kung hinde siya binayaran Would he be as passionat sa issue? Plus nadagdagan pa yun kay BBM. He's willing to endorse anyone Pala basta meron bayad tapos ginamit pang dahilan si Kris Aquino to defend his action. Supalpal tuloy kay Kris. Natame me siya nun sinabi ni Kris na they were paid to do it. Na huwag na magplastikan dahil binayaran silang dalawa for the job.
As for him endorsing products. No problem with it, dahil obvious naman na binayaran siya.

Cheap kung cheap pero if it will bring food to my table, then i'd still do it.
Re: sa Marcos thing, would you do it knowing you'll receive millions but lose your dignity in the process? BUT! you bring food to the table.
Agree.
Yung BBM issue, malaking X talaga. And obvious na hindi rin naman siya as clean as people think, with the way he misled people with Kris when it was a totally different circumstance. I don't usually draw hard lines, but I automatically lose respect for Marcos apologists.

I don't have a large safety net. I am as middle class as one can get. A person's opinion is not dependent naman on his or her financial capability.
There is nothing cheap about selling mangoes. My favorite Uncle who recently passed away sold fresh produce (fruits and veggies) and juice drinks at the weekend market. He can sell tinapa or tuyo and I would still think he is cool.
Also, I don't think endorsing products popular with the masses is not cheap. What I find cheap about James Deakin - lahat pinapatulan. Does he even decline endorsements? Does he even patronize these products? He lives a comfortable life and he won't go hungry if he chooses his endorsements. I think a person with integrity will only promote or sells products that he or she believes in.
i think i know what Cathy means
it's like this -- if Deakin would filter the work he accepts
like only accepting work with automakers
or only accepting work with big companies
he would look classy
ang point ni Cathy, it seems Deakin is accepting everything that comes along
which makes Deakin look not very classy
that i think is Cathy's point
or if Deakin gets a real job nalang
with his nice image he'd make a good company spokesperson
Like joining the sactown kings for max money - losing is more palatable with mils in the bank
------------------------------------------
Stay hungry. Stay humble.
Which brings me back to my original point - "cheap" man, wala siya pake. Pera pa rin yan, sayang naman. Marangal na trabaho pa rin yan.
On the question of why he doesn't turn down opportunities just because ok naman na siya - kung mapapagaral ko anak ko sa Ivy League school dahil sa dami ng endorsements ko, aba why not. Yes komportable na kong mapagaral anak ko sa Ateneo o La Salle, but I'd want to be able to provide if kunwari nagkachance siya mag-Ivy League.
Again, he's simply striking while the iron is hot.
I don't think Deakin cares whether a random stranger thinks he's cheap or not. Heck, the guy didn't even care much about the association to Marcos.
