Yung nanay ko nagbebenta dati ng mangga sa simbahan every Sunday para mapagaral lang ako sa private school nung elementary. Cheap? Hell yeah. Pero marangal yun.

Hindi ako Deakin fan. Never was, most especially not now after the BBM association. But I would gladly endorse urine bags or whatever masa product there is if it would mean that I'll have enough to provide a safety net for my children in the future. Hindi naman importante sakin opinyon ng ibang tao, importante sakin makapagprovide ako sa pamilya ko.

I would expect that you would think Deakin is a sellout because he's no longer the conyo, malinis, stereotype that you probably liked about him before. Again, that's your opinion and I'm not at all surprised that you have that opinion.

But to call endorsing cheap products as not dignified, i.e. not worthy of honor or respect, that I will strongly disagree with you.

I don't have a large safety net. I am as middle class as one can get. A person's opinion is not dependent naman on his or her financial capability.

There is nothing cheap about selling mangoes. My favorite Uncle who recently passed away sold fresh produce (fruits and veggies) and juice drinks at the weekend market. He can sell tinapa or tuyo and I would still think he is cool.

Also, I don't think endorsing products popular with the masses is not cheap. What I find cheap about James Deakin - lahat pinapatulan. Does he even decline endorsements? Does he even patronize these products? He lives a comfortable life and he won't go hungry if he chooses his endorsements. I think a person with integrity will only promote or sells products that he or she believes in.

    replying to Walter

i'm sure Cathy knows they don't use the products

what she finds "cheap" is Deakin accepting everything that comes along... na wala siya pina-lalampas...

it just sends a signal na ang importante lang sa kanya may pumapasok na pera

parang mix martial artist yan na half foreigner half pinoy.

dito talaga sa pinas mas celebrated ka pag may madami ka lahi fruit salad.

    Example 40%pinoy, 20%chinese, 10%russian, 10%italian 10%indian 10%mongrel.

More than a decade na siyang nasa pinas pero as if ngayon lang nagkaroon ng awareness na bulok naman talaga ang mga patakaran at pamamalakad sa agency.

He claims he doesn't mind the violation and fines. What he is yacking about is the apparent "hassle" and inconvenience of settling the fine and recovering the license (apparently because the violation and confiscation occurred during the holidays). I'm with LTO (for all its faults). I mean the inconvenience is part of the deterrence if you ask me. Its the same as those towing MMDA videos, they don't take fine payments and make you go to "Towmana" to recover the car/motorcycles. If you don't want to do the time, don't do the crime.

I used to like him, then COVID came and he started being a "dickin" with his insensitivity to those who could not afford to stay at home for long, his anti-vax stance, being a MAGA and Musk fanboi.
