A doctor will NOT recommend that a patient stay in the hospital for prolonged periods after an operation simply to continue therapy there. This is unnecessary additional expense on the part of the patient.

As soon as a patient is stable and does not need to be observed for bleeding or cardiac problems, they can go home and have therapy done there.
I agree. My guess (again not a doctor), is that in cases where the operation does not involve a vital organ (kumbaga malayo sa bituka), the patient is discharged faster.

Compare a broken bone with an appendectomy.

The main concern of the OP are the nos. (4. Operation wound never seemed to heal even after more than 2 months.
    5. March 28. Consulted another Dr; advised re-opening of the wound asap as the 'nana' or pus is threatening to spread, hinting that something wrong was done by the 1st Dr.) and not the limited stay during admission. That's why they (the family) wanted to raise a complain.

Yun nga... but these do not necessarily have anything to do with the early discharge, which is what the OP seems to be suggesting... and suggesting that casino bills are the reason for the early discharge. Well, if I had a lot of bills to pay, I'd keep my patients at the hospital longer so I can keep racking up consultation fees... but then, I'm not a doctor or a gambler.

And as we are discussing here, post-op infection is not unheard of.

I have a friend in the US who's had several hip surgeries, and he's experienced inflammation and complications after one or two of them. Very painful. Very inconvenient.

And yet these were done with the utmost care, and he isn't an octogenerian (not even 50). The risk of infection and complications for elderly patients is much higher, whether the procedure was done correctly or not. These things happen.

Granted, it is possible the first doctor may have been careless, but you would have to get diagnostic procedures done to pinpoint where the first doctor did anything wrong (if he did anything wrong).

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

What yun nga? The OP's inquiry is so plain and simple. Eh kung saan saan na nyo dinala? Do you think that would help? Complaining vs a surgeon
