December 10th, 2006 03:45 PM #67I wish these politicos would just just the hell up with their ConAss BS and instead focus on other more important issues hounding the country, oh and why can't they use their time pooling their resources in helping the victims of the typhoons. I don't know ha, but if they succeed in changing the type of gov't and yet it will be the same bozos sitting in power, then it will be useless and a complete waste of time and energy.
BTW, the plan has been put on hold muna. If ever they push through with it again, baka ma-supalpal pa sila ng Supreme Court.

December 10th, 2006 06:22 PM #68Pagcor beats bishops to Luneta rally site

THE Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) is not abandoning its massive prayer rally despite Malacaņang's order that administration lawmakers forego the planned constituent assembly to amend the 1987 Constitution.
But the government's main gambling agency appears to have beaten the bishops to the venue -- the sprawling Quirino Grandstand in Manila.
The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) had reserved and paid for the use of the venue before the bishops announced the prayer rally on December 15, according to Monsignor Pedro Quitorio, CBCP spokesperson.
"We learned that Pagcor was using the grandstand for an activity," he told the Inquirer on Sunday.
One bishop, who was planning to mobilize his diocese for the rally, expressed suspicion that Malacaņang, through its gambling agency, had intentionally reserved the venue to foil the CBCP activity.
