I mean they prescribe antibiotics without a bacteria culture. How can they tell what kind of bacteria u have?

U go to the doc, he looks at u, then he writes a prescription...

pano nya alam na ung antibiotic na na-prescribe nya is effective against ur bacteria? trial and error? if it doesnt work, he prescribes another?

kasi po i've had post nasal drip for more than a week, sabay masakit ulo ko lalo na pag hapon. tapos nahihirapan ako lumunok. i'm no doctor or nurse or med rep. pero alam ko kapag viral infection, hindi kailangan ng antibiotics, it will go away mga 7 days, inum lang ng inom ng maraming liquid saka pahinga. so after 7 days at masama pa rin pakiramdam ko, (actually lumala pa nga nung saturday, kasi nilagnat din ako saka nag chills). nagpa tingin din ako sa doktor, nung una nga ayaw pa ako resetahan ng antibiotics, vit c lang daw. pero nagdalawang isip siya kasi sabi ko may history na ako ng sinusitis, sabi niya kung ok lang daw sa akin ipa cbc nya ako saka platelet count. so ayun... nakita mataas wbc ko. kung anong klaseng bacteria, hindi ko alam kung paano niya nalaman, siguro depende sa symptoms.
