Glasses are way more expensive than contacts.

I have dry eyes and wearing contacts is very uncomfortable with the need to regularly lubricate the eye.

With my grade of almost 10.00, my lens alone costs 20k+. And I will need at least 3 pairs for spare in case masira, which have happened a few times already.

Why not lasik? I'm 5 months post-op and sobrang satisfied ako sa naging results. Just had my check up last Monday and 20/15 na daw ako. My wife also did it last Monday. Tuesday night nakapag-work na agad sya. CLEAR yung procedure namin which has the least downtime kaya nakabalik din kami halos agad sa work.

lasik is not for everyone, just as contacts are not for everyone.

Exactly, parang bumalik yung normal vision mo with this procedure. Iyun nga lang it's pretty expensive costing within the 70K range.

Yes doc. They will assess you first if you are fit to undergo the procedure.

We grabbed it na dahil noon pa namin talaga gusto ni misis magpagawa. Back when the most affordable procedure is in the 100k+ range pa.

meron akong nakausap na 2 may-ari ng optometric shops...
1st owner - she did Lasik but after some time, parang bumalik daw ang paglabo ng mata nya and she's wearing eyeglasses again.
2nd owner - he's afraid to undergo Lasik surgery. he's still wearing an eyeglass now.

kasama ako sa takot magpa Lasik. late last year, accompanied my dad to do Laser surgery to correct an earlier eye surgery that's not done properly.
i'd already spent more than Lasik cost since i started using eyeglasses. meron pa akong sunglasses na may grado for daylight driving. yung changeable eyeglasses ko ay hindi masyadong dark kahit tirik ang araw.

maybe it's really time to do Lasik

We had ours at Borough Lasik Center. 90k for the CLEAR procedure and was done by Doc Heredia. We were also inquiring at American Eye Center for SMILE surgery (80k naman sa kanila and is similar to CLEAR) but went with Borough kasi sila yung mas sumasagot sa inquiries.

We were informed as well nung assessment pa lang na as we grow older, may chance pa rin na bumalik sa paglabo ang mata pero not as bad as before surgery daw. We fully understand it naman and still pushed through with the procedure. Gusto lang talaga namin ni misis maexperience ulit na makakita ng malinaw without wearing glasses or contacts. When the doctor clears my wife na pwede na magswimming, we'll go scuba diving na.

correct doc. I used to wear extended contact lens. depende sa tao, ako hindi maselan mata ko. I used to wear it for a week straight. no ill effects.
then in 2001 I had LASIK surgery sa American Eye. 23yrs on, di ko pa need ng reading glasses and 100/50 grade ko now for nearsightedness. need ko lng mag glasses when dr8ving at night

lasik is a give and take affair.
you will take, but you will also give.
the ophtha will mention these, and we will decide what it is we are willing to give, in exchange for what we are going to take.

ako medyo a bit earlier pero right about that time din when i started wearing contacts. that's the time kasi when i decided to play tennis again. bothersome masyado when sweat splashes on my eyeglasses and inconvenient din when they mist too. and more importantly, delikado naka salamin kapag nag lalaro kasi pag tamaan ng bola mukha mo, hindi lang black eye abot mo.

from then on, contacts na ako whenever indulging in any strenuous activity.

besides, i'm a sucker for wearing shades kaya plus sa akin talaga gumamit ng contact lenses.

not advisable for me. masyado mababa ang grado ng mga mata ko. i'm in that in between zone of optical misery and clarity.

but a fellow tennis enthusiast had his lasik procedure done years ago in dallas and eventually bumalik din iyong eye problems niya. he opted not to undergo another treatment. kaya nag pupunas parati ng anteojos kapag nag lalaro siya.

Not really. Like what Boybi said lenses are super expensive. I went to my ophta and opto recently and I was strongly advised to get lens of top quality and NEVER buy the cheapest. Lens pa lang P40k na. Frame more or less P25k. Contacts P1k lang ata?

EO at Sarabia lang ako. You can get a pair for less than P2k. I already felt scammed at that purportedly "Japanese" optical shop (feeling doctor pa yung mga staff na naka-white lab gown).

pardon my opinion, but in my view,
    "sales talk".
as long as the grade is met, the eyes will see good with either.
however, when brand names and fashion come into the picture, the sky's the limit.

for everyday wear, brand names and some special grade lenses do cost more than the usual grades.
for optically special lenses, prices may also get to be special.
i just do not know if these lenses' price differences are more an effect of the industrial difficulty involved in their manufacture, or are they brand and store mark-ups taking advantage of the product's unique-ness... ?

    frames...?
i'd like to see those Php 25K frames, and see why they cost so much... jok lang po. but surely, frames that cost considerably less, should be acceptable...
my rayban frames cost me 5K. it was on sale. it's over 4 years old, and still good.

You're not getting one pair of eyeglasses only. You'll always need at least a spare.

sa grade ko na around 10.00, I will need ultrathin lenses, which costs a lot.

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie's Daughter Shiloh Dropping 'Pitt' From Last Name

her 1st act as an adult is to legally remove her dad's surname to her's. brad must've been crappy to be around with when she was growing up.
