A multi-awarded film about how a struggling newspaper company based in Boston, USA exposed pedophilia among local catholic priests. The stunning exposé eventually led to a worldwide purge by the Vatican.

It's a refreshing watch. A good old style storytelling w/o the use of cgi is something that's not very common nowadays.

Michael Keaton, liv schrieber, mark ruffalo, and The lovely Rachel McAdams star in this investigative crime drama.

Martin Scorsese's long arse movie about a non Italian mob hitman who rose from the ranks. Sa sobrang haba I had to finish it in 2 installments.

I think Scorsese's previous mob movies, casino and good fellas , are still tops in his long list of masterpieces.

Squid Game: The Challenge

I'm now in my last episode of the Squid Game Challenge. It is nice to see and know people throughout the game. I was rooting for the old physician guy but he was eliminated early and there is this mother and son team..... and who can forget about the Gangbu Gang? lol. Now, if you do the math is it harder winning the squid game than winning the 6/49 super lotto?

uncut gems (2019)

adam sandler and kevin garnett is featured in this wild gambler's story. it's definitely a fare very different from the usual funny and wisecracking flicks of sandler. you see a very serious adam here for once.

the storytelling is jarring but smooth as sandler effectively draws his viewers in to the sweaty ups and downs of a gambling addict. it has no picnic of an ending either.

Done watching YuYu on Netflix. I like it! You can virtually watch the whole series in just one seating. I like how the characters are portrayed and it is very much similar to the cartoon series. I rate it 9/10.

I was rooting for Igor as I believe he is like the combination of Dom and Jordan (Great food and great leadership skill which can command the kitchen) too bad he was booted out early maybe over confidence from his part? But Dom dishes are all solid 5-star which is the essence of the competition but he needs more polishing with his social skills.

Mosul

An American produced Arab film set during the Iraqi campaign vs isis. It's Pretty well done and a novelty for me since it's the 1st time I've watched something done in Arabic.

The film is tight and fast paced kaya I reckon it's as good as any quality war film on Netflix.

No hard feelings

Jennifer Lawrence's R rated comedy film that's just ok. I'm surprised she actually did frontal nudity here. Parang out of place Lang for a multi-awarded actress like her. And the timing is kind of a head scratcher...why now?

I guess it just goes to show Lawrence is a bit of an unconventional nutter.

Everyone got so bored during pandemic ... most actors took the first decent job that came along ... just to get over the boredom ... lots of weird movies by prominent actors during 2021-2022 ...

A suspense thriller series. My recommendation is to watch the 1st two episodes and the last two episodes. The middle episodes gets boring at times.... hehe So, who killed Joe? is he really still alive? Overall, 7/10.
