First off, Im a total newbie regarding cars, I never had one. I like the Mazda 3 more than honda or toyota cars, they are way too common that it is impossible to not see one when you hit the road. If ever, this will be my very FIRST car if I decide to buy one right now. So im asking the experts here, is it wise to buy a 2009 mazda 3 right now, a car in its last model year rather than waiting for the 2010 mazda 3? The wait for the 2010 model and the excitement of finally having my very first car is killing me

It would really depend on you. Dapat no regrets ka when the new model comes out.
I'd say wait for the all new model or just buy something else.

If you can't resist buying one, try to haggle for freebies and discounts.

advise ko sir is to test drive, then feel it, compare specs, that will direct you kung ano talaga gusto mo, mahirap talagang pumili ng kotse dahil ang gaganda na ng bagong model ngayon, goodluck

yeah, its one of the main reason thats holding me back, that I might regret it once the new model comes out, heard that the 2010 model will arrive late this year or probably next year. There hasnt been any significant price drop on the 2009 models either so I guess its better to wait jsut like you said. Thanks for the sound advice

yes sir its quite difficult and I've only done my reasearch on the net. After too much deliberation, I kinda like the mazda 3 over other competing cars because its sporty, great performance and fits my budget (1m). Im just stuck between the 2009 and 2010 model

if you're really bent on buying a mazda 3, i say wait for the new model to come out then decide. baka paglabas ng 2010 model magsisi ka lang.

but if i were you i'd also consider other manufacturers. aside from being common, you should also consider other factors like performance, maintenance and reliability. it's nice to have a car that's unique, pero kung lagi namang nasa casa, di bale na lang. (i'm not saying ganon ang mazda 3.)

kung ayaw mo naman talaga ng kotse ng bayan (which is perfectly understandable), why not try looking at the mitsu lancer 2.0? it's within your budget, at sobrang bihira ka makakakita non.

My advice for you is to test drive the 2009 model and then research the 2010 model then compare the specs, interior, exterior then decide whether you wait or buy the 2009 model... The internet is your information, i suggest you search the net....

Next year 2010 the price of the 2009 model will slightly decrease...

    Congrats on your future ride...

I just bought a mazda 3 kahapon. Natest drive ko sya last sun and ok nmn pala. Me response nmn ung engine from standstill and nakaka-overtake nmn. Its torque enuff for me.. Turned out it isnt that bad..

Nagtry ako sa jazz. but I didnt like the internals of the jazz. Parang tinipid (i think).. and ang liit ng manibela. Para akong nagdrive ng toy car..

Yumg city nmn, daw ala test drive for the 1.3 variant.. So, mazda na.. inasikaso pako mabuti nung agent.. (The city dont even offer free tints.. pfft)

Anyway.. to the OP. Follow your heart pare. Maganda pa rin nmn ung current mazda and can you bear it --having no ride till 2010, i mean?

Basta maganda ung car. Solid!

ako din got my mazda 3 5mos now, no complains for the ride and comfort except for the FC, if its your daily car and you live far from your work, better think twice, the gasoline consumption will probably hurt your wallet, ako i average 1,200 a week.

It's a bit underpowered but not really really slow.

The hard thing is we don't know when the new 3 would come out. As far as I know mazda 2 muna. The current mazda 3 is a solid choice, yun nga lang malapit na talaga palitan. We're not sure lang whether end of 2009 or early 2010. btw, which dealer and agent did you transact with? And what freebies did they give you?

teka mali hehehe...1,200 pesos a week = 40liters a week, takbo ko nito 380 kilometers na (6 days a week) divide natin sa 40 so nasa 9+ kms per liter.

actually antipolo lang naman ako 64kms ang back and forth ko..

1,200 pesos? Used to spend that much every two weeks on fuel, Antipolo din ako. Of course, I drive a diesel M/T, so....

To the OP: weigh mong maigi yung pros and cons. Since outgoing na yung current Mazda3, you might squeeze more freebies from your dealer, pero baka manghinayang ka nga pag ni-launch na yung bagong M3. On the other hand, a new model car will most probably be plagued with bugs in the first few months of release, parang software. At least with the outgoing model, sigurado kang na-plantsa na nila yung mga problema by now.

ganito rin yung dilema ko dati pero i go for it. november last year i bought my mazda 3. since hindi siya very common on the road, malakas pa rin ang dating, head turner pa rin. dito nga sa thailand ang dami pa ngayon lumalabas sa casa na brand new mz3. got my mz3 sa greenhills din, with good discount and lots of freebies, haggle lang ng konti.

pansin nyo bang lumakas uli ang sales ng mazda3 after they came up with the 2008 model.

nice kasi yung blacked out lamps and all black seat covers.. freebies and discounts are also hard to resist.

the new mazda3 will be out in the philippines probably 2011, so you still have 2 years to enjoy your ride before the new model comes out.

HI guys, thank you for the sound advice that you have given Yeah, you were all right on how great the Mazda 3 is, it blows away other competing cars and it was even a favorte on Edmunds.com. After too much deliberation, I think I want to buy the 2009 mazda 3 instead. My reason first of all is, like I said, I'm a car newbie, and since I'm one.. Im anticipating that there will be a lot of questions hanging around in my head when I finally own the car. I will most likely need help and when I do, I have the wealth of information that I can found right here on this forum and on other sites like clubmazda3. Of course, there are guys like you who could also help Second, the 2009 mazda 3 model is a great car and I'm not sure about the 2010 model , nobody knows if it could surpass it or even maintain it. Point is, the model right now has proven its worth. Lastly, excited na rin kasi ako hehe. Anyone here who could recommend me ng magaling at maasikasong agent? Please pm me his name and contact number, thanks! IM going for 2.0R model if kaya ng budget, kaya lang its 1.039m right now yata, I do hope mabigyan ako ng malaki-laking discount para makuha ko sya ng less than 1M. And nga pala, any idea kung significant ang difference ng 2.0R sa fuel consumption versus 1.6 variants? Plano ko kasing gamitin ung car as my everyday ride to work, Im from novaliches and I work sa ortigas, magkano kaya ang fuel ko per week?
