March 4th, 2009 06:27 PM #13It's a bit underpowered but not really really slow.
The hard thing is we don't know when the new 3 would come out. As far as I know mazda 2 muna. The current mazda 3 is a solid choice, yun nga lang malapit na talaga palitan. We're not sure lang whether end of 2009 or early 2010. btw, which dealer and agent did you transact with? And what freebies did they give you?

1,200 pesos? Used to spend that much every two weeks on fuel, Antipolo din ako. Nowadays, hindi pa umaabot ng 1k every full tank. Of course, I drive a diesel M/T, so....
To the OP: weigh mong maigi yung pros and cons. Since outgoing na yung current Mazda3, you might squeeze more freebies from your dealer, pero baka manghinayang ka nga pag ni-launch na yung bagong M3. On the other hand, a new model car will most probably be plagued with bugs in the first few months of release, parang software. At least with the outgoing model, sigurado kang na-plantsa na nila yung mga problema by now.

ganito rin yung dilema ko dati pero i go for it. november last year i bought my mazda 3. since hindi siya very common on the road, malakas pa rin ang dating, head turner pa rin. dito nga sa thailand ang dami pa ngayon lumalabas sa casa na brand new mz3. got my mz3 sa greenhills din, with good discount and lots of freebies, haggle lang ng konti.

March 6th, 2009 03:06 AM #18pansin nyo bang lumakas uli ang sales ng mazda3 after they came up with the 2008 model.
nice kasi yung blacked out lamps and all black seat covers.. freebies and discounts are also hard to resist.
the new mazda3 will be out in the philippines probably 2011, so you still have 2 years to enjoy your ride before the new model comes out. 8 years ang minimum model change cycle ng mazda philippines.
basta, hindi ka magsisisi sa mazda3.. nice overall solid car.

March 6th, 2009 05:44 AM #19HI guys, thank you for the sound advice that you have given Yeah, you were all right on how great the Mazda 3 is, it blows away other competing cars and it was even a favorte on Edmunds.com. After too much deliberation, I think I want to buy the 2009 mazda 3 instead. My reason first of all is, like I said, I'm a car newbie, and since I'm one.. Im anticipating that there will be a lot of questions hanging around in my head when I finally own the car. I will most likely need help and when I do, I have the wealth of information that I can found right here on this forum and on other sites like clubmazda3. Of course, there are guys like you who could also help Second, the 2009 mazda 3 model is a great car and I'm not sure about the 2010 model , nobody knows if it could surpass it or even maintain it. Point is, the model right now has proven its worth. Lastly, excited na rin kasi ako hehe. Anyone here who could recommend me ng magaling at maasikasong agent? Please pm me his name and contact number, thanks! IM going for 2.0R model if kaya ng budget, kaya lang its 1.039m right now yata, I do hope mabigyan ako ng malaki-laking discount para makuha ko sya ng less than 1M. And nga pala, any idea kung significant ang difference ng 2.0R sa fuel consumption versus 1.6 variants? Plano ko kasing gamitin ung car as my everyday ride to work, Im from novaliches and I work sa ortigas, magkano kaya ang fuel ko per week?
