the improvements should really be a cut above the rest in anticipation of the new corolla and lancer (and probably the sentra) which will be released this year.
According to someone I talked with who is from Mazda GH (Sales Mgr yata sya, can't remember), eto ang improvements (for the 2.0 R): new front and rear bumper design, new fog lamps design, new grille design, new side skirt design, new tail lamps with LED, new 5-spoke 17-inch wheels, new engine 147 HP at 6500 rpm w/ addition of SVT, adopted electronic throttle control, VICS incorporated w/ swirl control valve induction system, addition on roof insulation, new dark silver finish in the interior panels, new front and rear suspensions.

Price is at 1.089M (50K increase).

    Mazda 3
    Mazda 3 2.0 D Sport
    Rating:

The Mazda 3 possesses a fine mix of subtle design, good economy and strong performance
    By Dan Strong April 2007

We Brits adore our family cars - particularly if they are diesels. But until now, the choice has been limited, with market leaders such as the VW Golf TDI 140 and Ford's Focus TDCi 135 remaining largely unchallenged.

The smooth, refined unit is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox which makes the 3 a really enjoyable car on the open road

This week, however, Mazda is set to get in on the act with a fresh version of its sporty 3. Powered by a 2.0-litre turbodiesel borrowed from the larger 6, the newcomer offers strong performance and impressive economy.

Promising a 0-60mph sprint time of 9.9 seconds and a 126mph top speed, the latest model is clearly no slouch. However, bosses believe this version will account for up to a third of Mazda diesel sales, so customers will be given plenty of choice when it comes to equipment.

There are two trim levels - TS2 and Sport - and both are fitted with a CD player and climate control as standard. Sport spec adds a host of extra features such as 17-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlamps, a Bose audio system and rain-sensing wipers.

The smooth, refined unit is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox which makes the 3 a really enjoyable car on the open road. The engine is exceptionally quiet, and its power is delivered right through the rev range.

Being a diesel, it's very torquey, with peak power of 141bhp available at only 2,000rpm. This means you can complete overtaking moves swiftly, even if the gearchanges are rather sticky. Yet all this performance doesn't harm economy. The 2.0-litre model returns 47.1mpg on the combined cycle - not quite as frugal as the 1.6 variant, but still impressive.

The hydraulic power-steering is similar to the system used in the performance flagship version of the 3, the petrol-engined MPS. With a slightly heavier feel to the wheel, though, the diesel is actually much more relaxing and satisfying to drive.

In fact, with less power going through the front wheels, an engine overflowing with torque and decent fuel economy, the newcomer is easily our pick of the 3 range. It's responsive enough for enthusiastic motorists, yet equally happy to potter about in congested town traffic.

What's more, the derv model does without the deep front spoiler and aggressive bodykit fitted to the flagship MPS. So if you demand understated performance, this all-new high-power diesel from Mazda deserves to be on your shortlist.

Ang alam ko oo, nung nag-uubos sila ng mga old stock nila ng Mazda 3 to pave the way for the new ones. Not sure about this though.

They had a promo, 99k Downpayment only, tapos less 90k yung price from P1,039,000 then free na rin chattel, insurance 1 year, saka LTO reg. Got 1 unit of the 2.0R from them a week ago para makahabol sa promo. Also intrest rate is around 8% per year only. Kaso very limited lang daw nila ito inoffer (kung di pa ako nangulit ng promo di pa sasabihin), saka konti lang na approve daw. the promo ended yesterday May 31, 2007.

its very possible that 2008 will be a year when CRDi-equipped cars will be coming in. though there's no confirmation yet from the dealers, Ford will indeed release the Focus TDCi here soon, but they say it'll be much more expensive than the current Focus 2.0 HB since it has more features (like the 6sp tranny) and it'll be a CBU from Germany.

If the CRDi will be marketable in the ASEAN, Ford may decide to assemble the CRDi units here in the philippines; Mazda may most likely follow suite, coming from the same factory.

OT na ito pero while Hyundai has already pioneered the CRDi on their cars, most experts say that others, including auto giant Toyota, will also follow.

TDCi is no brainer, u get around 20-30% better Fuel economy and more Torque downlow the revs... initial cost nga lang medyo mas mahal. pero in the long run it should be cheaper to operate. pero dapat eh i-mandate din sa atin yung may particulate filters to reduce pollution fm. Diesel engines....

i wanted to know if they did some minor cosmetic changes on the 3? coz the new tail cluster or was it and aftermarket set? looks pretty cool!
Hi...i drive by tagaytay with my m3 becaue my gf's place is in batangas...i got the LED tail lights but i doubt it if im the one with the masked tape...hehe...probably a new variant or sumthing...dunno...hehe...

    I just ordered a Mazda 3 2.0 Petrol Red.

Ang kinuha ko yung current version (not the facelifted), the big discounts are very hard to resist and bang for the buck kasi halos lahat ng features andun na...(sana may mazda na back-up sensor).

Hindi ganun ka evident yung facelift lalo na sa 2.0 versions. Pero the SUBLIME color is really cool (my wifey loves it).

It's 99% cosmetic. My cousin owns an old Mazda3 and says he prefers the old one better, as some of the new plastics and materials are kinda so-so (at medyo makapal daw ang leather steering wheel for him... kinda like BMW's new fatty steering wheels). He also says that the ride is softer (he prefers the stiffer ride of the older Mazda3).

Still looks really good inside... and I agree... sobrang cute ang Sublime Green...
