Its not that good I am afraid... Was able to test drive the 2 before yan ang unang napansin ko. NVH... Worse than the Jazz and slightly worse than even a Yaris. Its a miracle that the Fiesta and the 2 are actually cousins??? Cause the Fiesta has the best NVH in the class even better with car in higher segments like the Civic and the Corolla...

Sir, exaggerated naman ito. The mazda2 provides ample sound and vibration insulation, but compared to bigger and heavier cars, such as the focus, corolla, or the fiesta, mas konti nga insulation niya.

with my experience hindi ko naman nakakausap mga tao from within the car.

bumps *can* be felt through the steering wheel, and the suspension is somewhat stiffer compared to the competition...

the payoff? a very light car (better FC, better braking) with a steering feel unmatched in its segment (yeah, overall, the fiesta handles better, but it's less direct in its steering feel)

*tidus1203: they're platform mates, yes, but with very different engineering philosophies. the mazda2 was designed to be as light as possible...

it shows with the curb weights.
mazda2... 1040+ kg (the sedan is lighter than this, AFAIK)
fiesta... 1130+ kg
corolla 1260 kg
focus 1400 kg

...hence the relatively similar performance with the more powerful fiesta with its 6 speed DCT.

02/27/2011 - Sierra Madre Resort funrun

6 am - Shell Marcos Highway meetup (pero dumating na ako 6:20. hehehe)
7:15 am - convoy left Shell
8 am - arrived at Sierra Madre resort
breakfast, kwentuhan, bonding, buyuhan
11 am - left Sierra Madre resort for another run sa twisties

a lot of bikers and bigwigs! nahiya lang ako kunan yung r8!

Waheheheee.... Nung naka 2 wheels pa ako eh every weekend nandyan ako dami talaga mga bikers dyan.... madalas tumatambay ang bikers dyan sa sierra madre resort.... sa pababa naman meron sikat na bulaluhan kay mang vic...

Really want gunmetal rims for my 2.

Went to Mazda Makati for 10K checkup. Sa 20K checkup around 8K pala gagastusin natin. Yikes!

Mahirap din pala magpalit ng bulb ng headlights. Through the fender pa??

What? 8k? Akala ko around 6k lang...

Yes baklas ang front fender before makabitan ng bulb ng headlights and nakita mo stro foam yung nasa harap ng radiator? akala ko bakal to support the front bumper.

im planning the next run na po. march 13 tentative

(malamang lowered na si joshue at ken. hehehehehe)

white with gunmetal rims is gwapo. hehe

re: headlights, ako hindi na kailangan through the fender. pag bukas ng hood kayang kaya naman. medyo kakailanganin lang ng skills sa left headlights kasi masikip but definitely doable. same with the park lights.

after 10k sa 20k ka na babalik? parang kalokohan naman kasi yung every 3 months na nakalagay dun sa service kit

Di pa ako nagpapalit ng bulb. Pero I want to. Might changed rims. Going 15s pa rin but most likely 195/55. Most practical "performance" series.
