    napansin ko, medyo nga high revving ang tribute nung bago pa. kaya medyo masiba sa gasolina. but after break-in, smooth na ang tunog. minsan, tumakbo ako ng 150kms/hr, maganda ang handling, parang kotse. at 2.3l lang pero, hayup kung umakyat kahit kargado, parang v6. ano ba ang downside ng trbitue? mukhang puro good side.

    Yung half lang na nabubuksan yung window sa likod is typical of American vehicles yata. I think it's got something to do with child safety.

    my 1 month old tribute 3.0 V6 engine runs somewhere between 6-7km/l.
    Not much difference compared to the rest of its class.

    i object... malaking diprensya. spacewise, maluwang at matangkad ang mazda tribute compared to suzuki GV, honda crv, at toyota highlander.

    I beg to disagree. The Tribute is based on the Escape platform and the Escape has less space than the CRV. In terms of cargo volume, the CRV can accomodate more cargo than the Escape or Tribute. Yes, the Tribute and Escape are both wider than a CRV but by only 45mm which obviously does not translate to more space.

    CRV specs:

    Overall length (mm) 4535
    Overall width (mm) 1780
    Overall height (mm) 1710
    Wheel base (mm) 2620


    Escape Specs:

    Overall Length (mm) 4,400
    Overall Width (mm) 1,825
    Overall Height (mm) 1,700

    Tribute Specs:

    Overall length - 4,395 mm
    Overall width - 1,800 mm
    Overall height - 1,765 mm

    Similar lang yung interior space ng GV & Tribute (we both have 'em).

    Hello Tribute owners, I'm actually considering a CUV lately and have a shortlist of which the Tribute is one of them. Since your Tributes are mostly a year old already, I believe I should have a better feedback about it this time.

    1) When you say it has a good ride, does this mean that it absorbs the road imperfections very well (comfortable, luxurious, not bouncy ride) or the suspensions are good because the car does not sway from left to right when turning, etc?

    2) I have read that some had a problem with the Tribute going uphill and some say the engine is preppy and just right; quite contradicting. I wouldnt have the chance to try the uphill test unless I buy the car. Sometimes, cars that climb uphill slowly are not necessarily weak but the gear ratios are designed that way. When you step on the accelerator, does the car speed up or only the engine rev goes up but the speed remains the same?

    3) Which other car models did you compare the above characteristics with?

    4) I would like to hear from you guys the negatives of this car (not the good ones), something to persuade me to think twice of shortlisting the Tribute :evillaugh

    Your answers to the above would help me get a benchmark on how you arrived at your conclusions. I may or may not have or drove the car that you compared it with and that would give me an indication of how the Tribute fares. Thanks in advance for your replies.

    just some feedback from occasionally using my mom's tribby:
    1) not bouncy, and not too much body roll from a vehicle of its height. my impression of it is it's like a tall 1.6-2.0L sedan.

    2) i would agree with your impression that perhaps the gear ratios are what's causing the tribby to have a relatively harder time going uphill. i don't think the engine is weak, and that it lacks torque. i just think the gear ratios are more suited for driving on plains rather than hills and mountains. btw, it was a friend of mine who said the v6 tribby he drove was having a hard time climbing. my closest observation on this is via an escape v6 scaling some fast mountainous freeways in california.

    3) ford escape v6. honda cr-v gen 2. hyundai sta. fe gen 1

    4) relatively an old car. it's design, tho IMO less conservative than the escape's is on the bland side. its gem of an engine 3.0L v6 tho powerful is thirsty.

    Akala ko Ford & Mazda are under one group?? Tapos ngayon, kinakawawa ng Ford ang Mazda. Sobra naman sila. Malamang kasi alam ng Ford na physically better looking ang Mazda vehicles. Grabe naman, pati ba naman diyan, may pulitika

    Thank you IMm29 & 3pl4 for your feedbacks Got my unit delivered last week.

    I was seriously contemplating on getting the V6 model as the unit cost difference between the 2.3L & 3.0L was not that much (I really like the way the 3.0L accelerates :attack: ) but I cut short my daydreaming; I might regret it later when the gas bill comes along

    Hi Tribute Owners! I recently purchased a 3L Tribute. Naghahanap po ako ng step board for my Tribute. Nahirapan kasi umakyat sa tribute yung mga anak ko. The step board being offered by Mazda Greenhills is around Php18,000++. Hindi pa yun original Mazda. The original would cost around Php20,000++. I was able to check with Shark, they are selling it at Php9,000++ with courtesy lights. Kaya lang Titanium lang yung available step board. The color of my Tribute is black. Mas maganda siguro kung black din yung step board. May alam ba kayo kung saan ako makakabili ng black step board? Thanks!

    Hi I am a newbie to this forum and I am glad to see a lot of mazda tribute owners here I own a 2005 2.3 model and so far have clocked in 75,000 kms to it. I am so pleased with the performance of the tribute and had only minor issues with it so far....until I had a problem with my aircon unit.
    When it suddenly became warm and no cold air coming out.
    I had it checked at Denso QC ave and was told that I need to replace the evaporator due to a leak. They replaced a new one, boy, was it labor intensive and had to pull down the dash, it got colder but is not the same as it used to...it cant stand up to the high noon heat and was wondering what it could be? Had it checked by Denso and other reputable shops and they cant figure it out... Does the ECU needs to be reprogrammed?

    Hi Mojojo, have you tried checking the wheel bearings? the dealer replaced mine under warranty and from then on the noise was gone
