regarding stiff suspension, i agree with you but now that i have a family im leaning towards comfort now rather than performance. actually ok naman aircon ng mazda 3 ko, i think the 1.6 engine has the weaker aircon and thus i often read about it in reviews. the sorento price did turned me off but i got the pre selling and at 1.395M it pretty hard to beat-6speed, dual auto climate, crdi engine, bigger space, push start etc etc
but motioncars did compare the cx7 to the turbo forester and that says alot about the 7! may moonroof ba yung 7?
i did bring my mzda at mazda makati once and thought their service was good, but my experience was with mazda greenhills. i hear a wobbling sound at the back and had it check out at mazda gh so while i was there i had the lights at the gear selector changed narin and the idling. i waited 2 hours but saw that my car was only worked on for about 15-20min but was charged for labor on 2 hours, no recommendation for the wobbling sound and im sure they just changed the gear selector light bulb. last week i had the spare tire pumped to 60psi, turns out wala ng tire pressure yung spare so that was the one making the sound at the back since loose na yung fitting nya.
yun lang naman yung bad experience ko sa kanila but that made me think if truly what they charge for labor hours is really the time they spend on the car, chance lang na nakita ko yung car ko while waiting since it was parked just near the waiting lounge..sorry for the OT
Congrats to your new Sorento! You're really lucky you got the limited Sorento at 1.395M pre selling price. I inquired recently from a Kia SA and said these pre selling units are already not available. I think at 1.395M vs the CX 7, I'll choose the 7 seater Sorento. But now only 1.7M sorento are available.
Thanks in advance!
have the casa install your license plates. they did the installation on mine and even provided the screws for it. they did a very good job on the front license plate. the holes were properly done and the front plate followed the curve of the base. installation was done for free![]()
Sir, kung naka-curve din yung front plate, walang plate frame na kinabit? I hope makapag-upload po sila ng pics, wala pa ako nakitang cx-7 na may plates in a plate frame sa front. Thanks![]()
thanks but the pre selling is only available for the 5 seater, but i just saw on the other thread that the pre selling was again advertised in the newspaper, dont know if its the crdi or the gas variant tho
if the cx7's plate holder is anything like the mzda3 then what i did was just screw the plate in the black plastic, yun lang if you have a plate protector, it will not follow the curve. sucks pag may dumaan and matamaan yung plate mo, i saw mine half hanging at the garage, buti napansin ng boy (whom i think accidentally hit my plate) before i went out, hassle mawalan ng plate number haha!
The pre-selling 5 seater Sorento at 1.395M is just a stripped down version which lacks the following features:
Rear combination lamp = LED type (7 seater) | Bulb Type (5 seater)
Back up Camera = Standard (7 seater) | - (5 seater)
Automatic Headlights-on control = Standard (7 seater) | - (5 seater)
Seat Material = Leather (7 seater DLX) | Fabric (5 seater/7 seater EX)
Steering mounted audio control = Standard (7 seater DLX) | - (5 seater/7 seater EX)
Rear View Mirror = Electro chromic Mirror w/ rear view lcd monitor (7 seater DLX) | Day and Night (5 seater/7 seater EX)
Panoramic Sunroof = Standard (7 seater DLX) | - (5 seater/7 seater EX)
Power seats (driver's side) = Standard (7 seater DLX) | - (5 seater/7 seater EX)
IMHO, at 1.495M for CX-7, with many luxury features including some mentioned above, you won't regret choosing it instead of the Sorento. I still prefer the CX-7 excellent drive handling and exterior looks.

Just thought I'd update this. I've figured it out. Nothing wrong with the CX-7 deck.
To anyone using a Belkin cable, read on...
It turns out it was the Belkin cable. My old Belkin in my other car connects to the iPod/iPhone via a mini-pl. This is the model with the cradle. It turns out that my new Belkin cable (the one without the cradle) is defaulted to first check signal via the base connector. Meaning it looks for the signal in the base socket, before looking for the signal via the mini-pl. No wonder whenever I plug and unplug the mini-pl directly, there was a lag. When I plugged the mini-pl from console to cable, meaning connection to iPod/iPhone is only via the base socket, all good. Sorry to ramble ... hope this helps other Belkin-iPod/iPhone users.
i used Deflector brand plate cover and it was ok. Bought it from car accessory shop (Ride for Fun) sa Alabang Motor Town, P1,350 lang. Alot cheaper than Ace, TrueValue or Handyman' P1,599. But napadpad ako dun kasi wala "Mazda" custom nameplate deflector sa mall. Meron pa isa available sa Roadstar. They can install it for you, but for me, i rather install it myself.
for some that i have seen, they just used the same metal screw that casa had used when attaching the license plate and they screw both the license plate and the black fiberglass cover (part of the deflector). This is ok since nabutasan na rin naman yung license plate.
What i did for me, since i want a clean look installation, i did not screw the license plate. I attached the deflector back cover, using the same metal screws (where? in the oem license plate holder, there are 4 dimples, i used the 2 at the middle). bahala ka na to align (vertical) and if ever you need to bore new holes sa deflector back cover, you can do so (i used metal stick, heat it up sa stove, then bore those new holes). Or you may screw it directly without boring new holes, but hard to align lang sa dimples i think.
Aside from the metal screws, i also used 3M double sided tapes (industrial strength type). This should fastened tightly the deflector back cover to the oem license plate holder. And talaga sigurista ako, i even used plastic tie straps (i hooked it up dun sa 2 square holes with tooth sa oem license plate holder).
after the installation of the deflector back cover, i tried pulling it to test how strong is its attachment, and matibay kinalabasan.
to attach the license plate sa deflector back cover, i used 3M double sided tapes lang. Anyway, it should be covered with the plastic clear cover and the chrome frames (which were screwed on the back cover).
my mechanic placed a small metal bracket so I can use bolt crewto hold my front plate. Also place half inch spacer so my plate holds straight.
Hi guys! may nagpa periodic maintenance na ba sa inyo? If so, is it necessary to follow the 10k klms or 6 months "whichever comes first" rule? 6 months na kc ung cx7 ko kaso 6000 klms pa lang..will it be ok kung sa 10k klms nlang ako mgpa change oil? di kya ma-void ung warranty e diba free pa naman ung change oil na un?
