Or perhaps the lower peak torque of diesel does not warrant high RPMs.

    That's where the diesel shines.

Unlike sequential twin turbo (2 turbos in series) setups on gasoline engines (e.g. the 4th gen Toyota Supra straight 6) which are designed to minimize turbo lag thru the use of a lower inertia, small primary turbo, the sequential turbo on the 2.2 Skyactive-D is designed to minimize the sharp and early power/torque fall-off (common to most turbo engines, diesels especially) through the use of a larger secondary turbo.

You will get better throttle response higher up the rev range bro Nelson.

Probably best up to 3,000 rpm for manual shifting. Peak power is at 2,000rpm.

Surprisingly this diesel gets a 3D emblem on the grill. I've heard from somewhere that the 3D emblem is only for the entry level series where there are no sensors mounted on the emblem. I may be wrong. Does anybody here have an Intel?

If it still makes 250 NM at 5k rpm, then keep it in that gear until 5k rpm.

You only manually shift early if the engine comes completely off the boost at high rpm, as the Ford 3.2 does.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Flat one is for Radar cruise control for the follow, stop and go feature. And also for Smart Braking Support too (>18mph). We don't get those even in any trim, right?

Looking at mazda.ph spec sheet for the 2017 cx-5, nope we don't. in terms of safety tech, the only thing the diesel has over the other trims would be lane keep monitoring and lane keep assist. (so the cameras for that would be a bigger than normal base of the rearview mirror)

Hello folks! Brand new tsikoteer here.

Joined up here cos my girlfriend has just plunked down money for downpayment para sa CX-5 diesel. I'm still teaching her as much as I know about cars, so for the meantime that means akong bahala sa karwahe niya, haha.

Just wanted to ask if you guys know kung kailan likely dadating yung delivery. Sabi sa akin nung dealers where we asked (Mazda Otis, Pasig, North EDSA, and Pampanga) from very late August to all of September daw. Baka sakali lang meron kayong more specific tsismis.

    Anyway, hello again!

Soul Red Crystal sir. Sa Laus Group Mazda Pampanga. Free LTO and TPL after a few threats of pulling out my reservation. I told them that I also made reservations with other dealers who are giving free LTO and TPL. Told me that unit is coming. I said I don't mind getting the unit because nakapaghantay ako since May pa. Malapit na ang September. Trade off is, I got their Huper tint ceramic package for all windows.

Haha! Obvious ba agad? Hehe! Will perhaps try Orange Virus if they can tune the diesel. But I'll be enjoying it first. Dapat bundok para sulit ang torque. [emoji16]
