    Psychology sells.

Even if you'd rip the front bumper completely off if you tried going off road in an Explorer... Ford does not quote approach, departure or breakover angles for the Explorer... hell, they don't even quote a safe flood fording depth!... it still looks like something tough.

The CX9 makes no pretensions about what it can or can't do. Hence, buyers looking for the false security provided by a "rugged" SUV pass it by.
Agree 100%. The CX9 looks reallllllly gorgeous and sleek. The Explorer " looks " tougher.

Fully agree to this. CX9 looks elegant and fast, while Explorer looks strong and ruggedly nice.

Apparently, with a gorgeous discount, the Explorer Sport 3.5L Ecoboost is priced the same as the CX9. It looks tough, roomy inside, and deceptively quick despite its size.

I guess for a family of 5, the CX9 is a more elegant and more expensive option than the cramped CX5. Now, if you need to seat 7 people on a comfortable land yacht priced below 3M, the Explorer is a top consideration and the base FWD model already comes loaded with features.

Agree on this. Specs and price wise. Though the Explorer (both variants) has suffered unresolved chronic issues (eg. exhaust fumes). While its a hit or miss thing, its obviously a deal breaker. Sayang.

Ford reliability & cost of ownership aren't very encouraging.

How much discount are they giving for the Mazda CX-9 and Ford Explorer?

I am not sure with Mazda on discounts for the CX9 but there are ads for the Explorer offering 200k discount for the Sport model and 150k discount for the FWD model. That would seriously undercut Mazda pricing for the CX9 (2.78M).

However, the TOTL CX-5 has more safety features, like the adaptive cruise control, etc.
    Thanks for your feedback sir!

Wow. The Explorer has adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, lane departure assist, automatic parallel AND perpendicular parking/exit, 1 touch 3rd row power seat storage, different AWD modes and more importantly: paddle shifters hehehe and apple car play/android auto. Does the cx9 have these? I know it doesnt have paddle shifters.....

Of the safety features mentioned above, only the lane departure warning/assist is available in the CX-9.

Got this text from a Mazda agent after choosing 3M CS20 as my tint [emoji848][emoji848][emoji848]

“Good afternoon. I confirm your CS20 tint and Good news we have that tint but I give my sincere apologies as we tried to stretch out, we couldn't afford to give the freebies you wished to have. (CS20) However, you may buy it as add ons. It cost 10,602
Or may consider the following tint bellow as free tint:

    BC20
    UV BLOCKED - 99%
    LIGHT TRANSMISSION - 17%
TOTAL SOLAR ENERGY REJECTED - 68%
    VISIBLE LIGHT REFLECTED 20%

    FX ST 20
    UV BLOCKED - 99%
    LIGHT TRANSMISSION - 23%
TOTAL SOLAR ENERGY REJECTED - 40%
    VISIBLE LIGHT REFLECTED - 5%

    Thanks.”

Definitely not the FX ST. That's the lowest variant of 3M tint and will discolor in a few years.

It's just weird that the reason they gave you was out of budget when BC series us more expensive if not at par with CS series.

Congrats on your new cx-9 btw. 😀

I told the agent I’m not willing to pay for that. I’m sure he’s just trying to get extra cash from us.

No unit yet but will hopefully get it first week of November [emoji28]

Got 14.5 km/L running at 90-100 km/hr from Balintawak (NLEX) to Pura (TPLEX) on unleaded regular gasoline.

What’s your FC for city driving, kaya ba 7 km/L moderate traffic? I am considering to buy the 2.5l turbo but worried FC might be as bad as the former 6 cylinder.
