Wala lang talaga bumibili kasi people would rather buy boring (but reliable) Fortuners or Camrys.
Well...price it more aggressively and lower than the competition and make it compelling buy. I bought a cx-9 in December due to the 300k discount. At 1.9 it was a no-brainer.

Optima is priced very competitively but wala pa ring bumibili, mahirap talaga pag hindi ka staple brand sa Pilipinas..

Our market isnt mature enough to be more open to other car choices. Puro kuro kuro pinakikinggan. Sa totoo lang matitibay naman mga current Mazda, no major issues throughout the lifespan of all prev gen models, tapos mura maintenance with Yojin. Pero wala pa rin.

If I were in the market for a midsize sedan, eto na talaga. Or a Legacy GT. Additional 85 hp for 300k.

The optima is a Kia...with all the baggage of being the same brand as the Pride.

Mazda has tried to market itself as a luxury Japanese brand and the market is not biting. Market it as zoom zoom with reasonable pricing( just like in the US) and I bet they gain market share.

I like the exterior design of the optima pero mas nagustohan ko driving dynamics ng m6.

Being an owner of a midsize sedan, let's say if I would choose again.. I'll probably still go for my Sonata. Kahit ano gawin ko, a hundred grand is a hundred grand. That's pretty much like 14,000km worth of free gas (assuming 7km/L and Php52/L gas prices).

Although I truly miss Mazda's driving character (I came from a Mazda3), the reason I'm buying a midsize sedan was primarily for comfort which echos pretty much what the target market truly is. This is the reason ang benta ng Camry at ng Accord

An officemate told me his dad was looking at the new Forester in Motor Image and an agent told them of the big discount for the Legacy GT sedan and wagon. The discount is about 300k. That puts the price of the Legacy GT within the price of the 2.4L Accord and Mazda6, and lower than the top-end 3.5L Accord and Camry.

Sales probably not so good... or they're clearing out ahead of a model change or facelift.

Midsized cars really don't sell well in the Philippines, not unless you're selling Camries.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

i'm pretty sure the legacy is doing well in terms of sales. legacy is on their top 3 seller, next to the forester and sti. not sure about now when the xv, new impreza and brz came out but i think it's still doing well.

May be top 3 but i'm sure the gap of the xv and forester vs the legacy is very big. Anyway, off topic na haha.

Saw a white Mazda6 along Sucat last night. The headlights are quite distinctive from my rearview mirror. The white color makes the car a bit timid to look at, unlike the red one which is quite loud and bold.

Auto Guide and Car and Driver believes that the Mazda 6 is the best mid size sedan in the market (4cyl engines).
