its been close to 3 years di ako nabisita sa villasis, urdaneta, baguio. ganun na ba katraffic villasis urdaneta? villasis medyo matraffic lang sa bagsakan/palengke dati, sobrang traffic na ba ngayon?

how about urdaneta? akala ko ba pinaluwag na daan. alam ko dati matraffic kasi may daan na malubak just at the boundery of nancayasan/urdaneta. basta nabaha nasisira yung espalto.

btw, be extra careful sa san nicholas stretch from 1st tulay to 2nd, its an accident prone area. same with nancayasan before the street vendors or max restaurant kung meron pa. that road is deadly.

kennon vs. marcos highway. kennon is for small vehicle kasi narrower ung kalsada. wala ding masyadong pujs, buses, and trucks. kalaban mo lang dun ung mga passenger vans, ang bibilis. and pag sa kennon ang daan, nothing says it better that you have reach baguio than the lion head. :D

marcos highways road is wider and much better. di ko lang alam kung develop na ung viewing deck to see the south china sea. its quite worth to see it during sunset. but of course if you use kennon road, you can always add in your iterinary to visit tam-awan later to see the magnificent view of south china sea.

Thank you sa mga reply sir. Sobrang laking tulong mga inputs nyo. First time ko kasi aakyat ng baguio bukas. Baka mag villasis urdaneta ako since maaga pa sana walang traffic, then mag kennon road.

    Hi guys,

Anyone been to Baguio recently? Up to what exit is the farthest to Baguio in TPLEX?

    Thanks!

In response to my earlier questions, I was able to drive going to Baguio last week.

I would say approx average time is now between 4.5-5hrs from NLEX Balintawak to just around the end of Kennon Road in Baguio.

Kennon Road wasn't as bad as I thought, well partly because we went there on a good season.

Kay siguro ipush ng 4 hours if you get a constant 100km/h run, no slow vehicles hoggling lanes in NLEX, Urdaneta to Kennon.

The Urdaneta strech of TPLEX is already open so most of the busy towns are definitely skipped already.

SCTEX to the end of TPLEX is one, long, straight expressway.

Well I hope these new network of roads do good for the economy.

ingat din sa mga spur road dyan, lalo na yung mga long stretch sa tabing bukid after ng mga exit, last time bigla may tumawid na mga baka, buti hindi nag lock brakes ko kundi para akong nag bowling hehe

Lagi akong passenger when going to Baguio, this time ako naman designated driver. Gusto ko sana sundan yung Partas route going to SF La Union muna para medyo familiar sa akin (kahit siguro matraffic), anong exits ang i-take ko? (Short of actually following a Partas bus ha )

The time it takes you to get to SF from the junction of MacArthur and Kennon is the same time it takes to get up to Baguio. Eh sa gusto mong route, SF palang yun, aakyat ka pang Naguilian which is at least another hour.

Just take NLEX-SCTEX-TPLEX until Urdaneta. Traverse MacArthur for about 20km, then you'll reach the junction of Kennon (may Caltex, Petron, Shell). Turn right to go up Kennon (fastest), or left if you wanna go via SF-Naguilian or Marcos.

May relatives kasi ako dun sa LU so parang rest stop na rin at the same time i-tour sila around town and the beaches nearby (or sa Thunderbird), saka distance would not be an issue, di naman kami nagmamadali hehe

Medyo matagal na rin ako di nakaakyat up north (di ko pa naabutan ang TPLEX being operational). Ang questions ko eh

    (1) May direct connection ba from SCTEX to TPLEX? If wala, anong exit sa SCTEX would take me to TPLEX?
    (2) Saan ako mag exit sa TPLEX? As per research, Urdaneta ang last(?) exit as for now so I assume dito. May signages ba rito directing to McArthur? Then straight na ito to junction.

    Thanks!

Tama si bro jut703...another hour or so ang dagdag sa trip mo by taking Naguilian road. Marcos hiway (Aspiras) is actually easier to navigate than Naguilian road dahil mas wider ang road.
But if you really want Naguilian road as your route of choice, your exit shall be in Bauang at Caltex gas station. Just turn right after passing Bauang police station and there you go to Naguilian road.

Diretso lang from sctex to tplex. Iisa lang ang toll gate nila. Pag surrender mo card ng sctex bibigyan ka naman ng card ng tplex if going up north, then reverse when going south.

Kayang kaya ng Ertiga yan. Vios ko nga 1.3 lang tapos AT pa, pero I was still able to overtake uphill even with 3 passengers on board.

Ok, salamat bossing Jut703... Sana this year or next kami makapunta dyan sa norte.
