Mga 6 to 7 hours drive yan pag gabi.

    Recommended toilet/meal breaks area...
    - NLEX
    - Rosario LU gas stations
    - San Fernando LU gas stations (Petron)/Jollibee
    - Candon IS gas stations/Jollibee

    Recommended cheaper gas stations...
    - Seaoil Damortis LU
    - Seaoil Bauang LU
    - Centrum Bauang LU
Thereafter, as you go farther north the higher the price.

Meron rough patches dito dahil ginawang isang lane yung road shoulder.

mas maganda po siguro kung unahin po ninyong magpunta ng ilocos norte (bangui, burgos, pagudpud, etc) at magstay dun for the first day.

You might want to check and see the Marcos Musuem in Batac, just 5mins drive from the Main road.
Another 2 minute drive from Marcos Museum.

Went to Vigan-Laoag-Pagudpud-Baguio last week. Waze is spot on. Masyado lang traffic ngayong season kasi ang daming construction from La Union, Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte. The usual 10 or 11 hour trip, inabot kami ng 14 hours, well kasama na stop over lunch, going from Manila to Pagudpud.

Also not happy with Pagudpud. It is over-rated. Stayed at supposedly their most popular resort, Hannah's, but was disappointed the rooms. For the price, di sulit. Tapos yung tubig nila galing sa faucet may halong saltwater. Dami pang ipis sa room. Worse than a 3rd-rate motel.

What we enjoyed was the Laoag and Vigan. Nagstay lang kami sa Baguio on our last 2 days kasi we love the weather there. Overall, I would not go back or recommend Pagudpud. Vigan at Laoag pwede pa.

We where there last Sunday all afternoon. Stayed at the cottage managed by Punta Azul Beach Resort.
Sa Hannahs dati fee nya 50php pwede pumasok, magtour, picture and use their pool now it's 100 per head.

Yung kay Farinas sa bungad dunno if you could use their pool or for guest only.

Try to use San Fernando By Pass Road (Alternate Route) - especially kung Week end para di kau ma traffic.

when we first went there at hannah's in march 2011 it was still ok, though one complaint was the water supply was cut off several times due to a faulty water pump. not too many people (maybe less than 50), beach was very nice, we were well attended to (kasi nga wala halos tao). when we returned in january last year disappointed na. beach was crowded already. the price of their rooms had also gone up, bathroom was not as clean as before (not dirty but you know what a clean bathroom is). even the "paluto" at the left side of hannah's had disappeared. punong puno na. may karaoke pa pag gabi so no, never going back.

Our first choice was Casa Consuelo, it was rated highly in tripadvisor, unfortunately fully booked na siya, and when we went there nasa dulo siya with hardly any usable beach front. Then at night, the power got cut off 2x. Nung tinanong ko yung guard, sabi nila madalas raw mangyari yun.

I actually find the city of San Fernando nice, looks like Baguio and ganun din ang traffic. When it directed us to the bypass road, traffic na din ang naabutan namin, siguro best bet is really madaling araw umalis para iwas tricycle and volume of vehicles.
