personally ive been using the china brand tires.. so far so good.. sa isang kotche ko bought WANLI then sa isang kotche ko naman WESTLAKE tires.. both sa 18's na mags ko.. ok naman.. pinakamalayo na tinakbo ko is quezon province.. wala naman naging problema. price is half the price nung mga branded one. not bad... palit ka nalang after 2-3 years.. para sigurado ka.

    Tried Westlake, fair enough ...

Just don't do slalom driving on these rubbers or you're dead!

Best budget tire I ever used were Bridgestone Turanza ER60s.

Good enough for that occassional sprint driving and corner gripping.

Just don't buy goodyear assurance tires. They come with the waffle blade system that is not reliable. I had my tires replaced just after a month use. Better not buy the goodyear brand. Go for Yokohamas, Dunlop, Bridgestone tires.

Just one more piece of advice, don't go to Hi performance alabang... aftersales service is very poor there.

Go for Federals nalang. ;) Kahit mahal, atleast sure shot ka na safe siya kasi nga " known " siya unlike mga China brands na pwedeng maggive up anytime dahil sa walang kwentang quality.

    Never go cheap on tires.

i agree! marami nagneneglect ng tires eh isa sa pinakaimportanteng component ng kotse toh.. as much as possible talaga, don't go for cheap tires. baka lalo lang lumaki gastos

OT: pansin ko lang yung dunlop lately panget na ng quality... mahina yung side wall... this is based on my experience and according to my suking tire dealer

westlake low-profile (R13 165) tyres gamit ko, two years na sa oto ko, pang-city driving/bahay-opisina lang.
brand new costs less than P2k a piece which is pasok sa budget ko.
sa tyre queen in p. tuazon cubao ko na score ito.
so far naman, walang problema, maganda din handling niya.

for daily commute, i say Gajah Tunggal (GT)

ang dami ko n nabili na GT for my car, my AUV, my brother's car and my mother's car, even sa service vehicle ng opisina namin GT and gamit, so far, wala problema sa bukol, oblong, or any other matter, until such time na magpalit ka na ulit.

Pansin ko kasi parang ang kunat ng rubber nya. I believe gawang Malaysia or Indonesia kaya really designed for the tropics.

Mas mura pa kesa leading brands

yes ok yan, GT savero for AUV, vans, SUV and pick-up ok siya. Pero mas matagal pa din mapudpod Bridgestone at Dunlop based on my experience. Pero halos 30% mas mura nga GT so ok na rin. La problem so far sa mga nabanggit mo na bukol, oblong, sumasabog etc.
