after 2 days of driving my picanto, i here some rumbling sounds, lalo na when idling... its coming from the compressor i think kasi pag off ang aircon, wala naman... and i agree about vibrations. i get it at 120+ kph, lumalaban ang steering... ano ba corerct tire pressure nito? kasi i got it from kia at 25psi, i upped it to 30psi.

Have it checked. Ako nasanay nako sa sound specially sa mga door locks. Those sounds are caused by plastic part that are rubbed or are not aligned. One solution is to put old slim rubber slippers to eliminate sound. And also to reduce road noise. Use dynamat or similar product.

Vibrations at high speeds naman. Recommended pressure is 30 psi. Full load 32 psi. Using wider tires will reduce "kabig" sa steering wheel.

Hi guys!

Am newbie here. Right now i'm owning a 1997 civic. the Lxi variant to be exact. But am planning to get a picanto this month. i have talked to several agents and they have given me great deals. One is the trade in. they would buy my lxi at P190K plus they will give me a P50K subsidy for a total of P240K. that's almost a 50% down for the 2008 picanto.

However, there are two things that confuse me for the moment.

First, should i trade in my civic? would i not miss this car if i have my picanto with me?

And 2nd, some of my friends advice me to buy Getz instead. i have seen one and i'm impressed with the compartment. it's more roomy than that of the picanto. I know you guys have opted for picanto than the Getz since you're on this thread. My question is this, what made you choose for picanto than the Getz?

Hope you can give me sound advice for these.

Thanks

Personally i dont own any of these two cars, but it i were you and i have the money then i wont sell my old civic. Your ek civic is a very good reliable car especially if its well maintained, plus with its low resale value, i think its best you just keep the car for its sentimental value.
Regarding the getz or the picanto. Either of the two cars is good, cheap and quite reliable. But if its me i won't buy either, no offense to picanto owners. But if i were to pick one then thats the time i would have to decide, but for now i will choose the aygo!!!

Thanks, Sir Samira.

Honestly, my first option is to keep my civic. until someone told me that i should sell it already since it's an 11-year old car. Mine has an automatic transmission and he said it's not advisable to keep an a/t car for 10 years. What's your personal take on this?

Second, my friends told me that at P240K,it's a great deal. since the price of 1997 lxi varies from 190 to 240K now a days.

My civic still runs smoothly. i have no problem with the engine although the extrerior and the interior need a make over.

I inquired recently regarding the srp of a new picanto, the m/t goes for 550,000, the a/t goes for 590,000. wow so expensive na!!! mas mura pa ang vios na 1.3 j model. They are giving the vios j model with a big discount this month.
