Facelifted 2010 Kia Rio

To answer my own question (share ko na din sa iba)

The new facelifted model does not come with any new safety features, basically for the same price what you get is just a new design and some changes to the interior that are pretty much negligible.

And as for the hatchback, Kia has no plans of bringing it here because according to the SA, it would compete directly with Kia's Carens.

Ibig ba nya sabihin a Kia Rio5 will cost 1M? Rio5 seats 5 while the Carens seats 7. Rio is gas, Carens diesel. so how would that compete directly?

Obviously. The SA doesn't know anything. He/she just invented the answer to your query for you to shut up, probably.

If the SA knows something, he/she would've told it to you ... in detail. And, obviously ... he/she was wrong about the kia carens - kia rio part. Your SA should just have told you that he or she doesn't know anything. Now that would've been easier.

I won't name names but it was a female SA from Kia Pasay. I just inserted the question while I was asking about the 2010 Rio. I'm thinking maybe because both cars are of hatchback design so she figured that they might be of the same banana.

May mga bumibili parin nito AFAIK dahil okay naman sya.

Re-badge ang Korean Pride to Rio para hindi ma-associate na econo car o entry level o low end sa international market ang Korean Pride.

Wag na mag-ilusyon that you are getting a premium compact vehicle dahil hindi naman talaga.

May Kia Rio LX M/T na pala for taxi use..Wala syang power windows at doorlocks at iba ang color ng doorhandles at side mirror covers nya.So far mabenta to sa mga taxi operators.

I'm set to buy the A/T variant before the end of this month (it will be my first car), nagustuhan ko talaga yung itsura. I'll post interior pics once I receive the unit.

Already test drove the Kia Rio LX last saturday. So far ok naman experience ko. Ganda ng handling at i think mataas din turning radius. Sa power naman, ok din sya. Clutch ang lambot parang gas lang ang tinatapakan. Aircon malakas din at tahimik ang makina. Magaan din sya. Pero weird lang ang trany nya. Ang reverse kasi nasa tabi ng 1st gear. parang ganito ang position

weird nga eh kasi nakakatakot. What if magkamali ka, kala mo reverse mo naipasok yun pala primera. bangga ka nun hehe! buti na lang ang kukunin ko Automatic. By feb 2nd week daw magkakaroon ng available unit.

May lock out ang reverse niya (as mandated by foreign regulations). It will not go into reverse without the driver's intention.

Ganyan din ang shift pattern ng mga European cars na M/T (e.g. Benz).

Yeah, may lock out so theres no mistake on making a 1st gear. but i think my small possibility when making a reverse. kala mo reverse yun pala 1st gear.. ouch!

Welcome! Sama sama tayong mga baguhan. Please do post pics, sobrang curious ako sa itsura ng interior nito if it's like anything yung nasa Kia na korean website. Yung nasa showroom kasi is yung luma pang style.

I think the interior of 2010 rio is similar with the old rio.
About the tranny, somebody told me that its the same with bmw
