    I have a 2011 Carens (70,000 Kms). While driving over wet roads, particularly, 2-3 inch puddles, I lose control as the power steering stops working. The battery light comes on during this period for between 5-30 seconds as you loose almost all control of your vehicle's steering. Just as your vehicle gains power steering again, a screeching sounds comes from the engine compartment (Maybe belts re-engaging). It has been raining the past week and the issue has happened several times. I had the idler pulley replaced last 60,000 upon recommendation by the casa but the problem persists. Anyone experience this with your rides?

    Suspetsa ko slipping belt sa power steering pump. Nababasa ang belt sa talsik ng tubig + baka matigas bearing ng power steering pump.

    Regarding the ac of our carens, nung nawala ang lamig ng aircon, the CASA just cleaned the radiator and replaced the water inside with new one, after that, malamig na ulit aircon ng carens namin, yung medyo weird lng ay when you place the knob to 4, biglang namamatay ang aircon, other setting ok naman, number 4 lng.

    hindi kaya.. pinatay yung 4 connection? soli nyo...?

    I'll be returning it to the casa for check up nga sir after the holiday.

    Brought the carens to a road trip from Bacolod to Dumaguete last week, maganda pa rin hatak nya, from overtaking big slow buses to steep uphill, parang bago, my only complain is the lagatok sa front suspension, ipapa check up ko din ito sa casa together with the ac.

    Mga Sir, Happy New Year. Ask ko lang if ano symptoms ng clutch release bearing and if anyone experienced problems with it already? I was driving along antipolo then went out for a quick stop, pagkatapos nun, may ingay na na parang nanginginig every time i release clutch. Mas rinig siya on 3rd and 4th gear. Wala naman problema pagchange ng gears.

    I have 2009 M/T.

    Would appreciate your inputs para mas targeted pag nag pacheck ako. Thanks

    You were correct, idler bearing of the power steering needs replacement. I also had the serpentine belt replaced since it's still the original belt. Thanks for your inputs.

    Release bearing would make a whining sound that goes away when you depress the clutch. Your symptom sounds like a bad pressure plate. Pero pa check mo sir pati Dual Mass Flywheel. That usually gets replaced when the clutch assembly is replaced.

    has anyone cleaned DIY their EGR? parang napansin ko kasi ang bilis dumumi ng EGR ko, kapapalinis ko lang nung october tingin ko marumi na naman kasi hindi ganun ka responsive when you step on the accelerator, step by step procedure will surely help

    Kung kalilinis lang, I don't think yang EGR ang primary cause.
    May experience din ako minsan ng hindi ganoon ka-responsive sa acceleration when I drove to Zambales, kahit overtake nabibitin ako... then I tried other brand of Diesel, malaki ang naging improvement nya.
    (Actually, hindi pa nalilinis EGR ng 2010 Carens ko, 40K on the Odo)

    Guys, may problem ako sa Carens namin. Got it pre-owned and had my turbo replaced after a few months of use. Di daw kasi naingatan ng previous owner yung maintenance. Ngayon naman, nagkaroon na ng minimal na talsik yung dipstick. Suggest ng tropa ko, mag pa overhaul na daw ako para iwas sa mas masakit na pagawa pag kumatok. Tried calling Fronte for a quote, nasa mga 65k daw yung abutin. Ganun ba talaga kamahal abutin nun? Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Sir baka kailangan muna palitan fuel filter kung hindi pa napapalitan. May effect din kasi yan sa responsive ng engine pag marumi na. Parang every 20k km yata ang pagpalit ng fuel filter

    Yang talsik from dipstick ay hindi basehan para ipa overhaul ang makina. Kung wala naman usok ang tambutso, malakas pa rin humatak, hibdi matakaw sa langis at maayos pa ang oil pressure wag mo pa overhaul. Kung di ka mapanatag I suggest ipa compression test muna. Overhaul kung mababa na. Ang 95k kms 2.0L U1 crdi engine ko may talsik din from. dipstick pero never pa nag degrade ang performance ng makina. Still can shame the 2.5 d4d innova sa highway run.

    Mahina na ba ang hatak at mausok na?
    Check mo rin yung oil level mo kung nababawasan. Minsan yung talsik ng langis ay due to some leak sa Valve Top Cover (gaya ng sa 2010 Carens ko).
    Yung Valve Top Cover gasket replacement can be easily done sa Casa at cost less than 2K (incl labor) sa Casa.

    Suggestion ko lang na ipatingin mo muna sa Casa and have them diagnose your Carens before you go to that route na ipa-overhaul.

2007 Kia Carens [continued]
