in what way sir? response? btw, ilan na po tinakbo ng carens nyo and you just asked them to clean the egr or isinama nyo po sa pms? baka need ko na rin

Yes sir, nawala yung hesitation lalo na sa akyatan (which nung time na yon, akala ko nagslide ang clutch). Hindi ko naman masasabi na pulido na ulit ang takbo pero nag improve kahit papaano. Pero i oobserve ko pa rin kung tuloy tuloy na ito. Baka kasi panandalian lang. So in a way, di pa conclusive kung yung EGR nga ba talaga ang culprit.

My Carens has 53k on the odo. Tagal ko na kasi gusto ipagawa ito at natiming-an ko na walang nagpapaservice dun. Nung una, hindi nila nirerecommend ang EGR cleaning kasi di naman daw mausok pero nag insist na lang ako at sabi ko na lang mga kasama ko kasi sa forum nagpalinis ng EGR at gumanda ang takbo ng Carens nila.

At sabi din nung mechanic, isa pag factor na pwedeg maka affect ng performance eh yung build up ng soot sa tambutso. He recommends na linisin din daw yon (actually, ibababa yon para lang malinisan-which will take time similar to EGR cleaning). Hindi daw advisable na gumamit ng tubig dahil possible daw na may tubig na makapasok sa makina.

Palinis mo na sir. Most likely puno na rin ng soot at carbon deposits ang EGR ng Carens mo. Then update mo rin kasi sir kung me nagbago.

Happy New Year!

Just had my car registration renewed, costs me a little over 4k including emission and tpl.

btw, yung result ng emission ko was 0.96, parang ang taas, ano po ba ang limit/passing for non NA diesel, sa NA kasi 2.5

last oil change - dec 2011
last oil filter change - dec 2011
last air filter change - nov 2011

before going to lto, hinataw ko pa up to 120km/h para matanggal carbon deposits pero taas pa din

Mga sirs, question lang po. Has anyone had their kia carens pms (change oil, change filters, brakepad cleaning... etc) on local shops? My LX Crdi is due for 60kms pms and the quote from kia service center was P9,000++. Since out of warranty na yung unit ko ay mas makakatipid siguro ako if I'll opt for local shops or gasoline stations. Yun nga lang, yung mga pinagtanungan ko pong mga talyer and gasoline stations na malapit sa amin ay hindi pa nakapag-pms ng carens, natatakot me at baka magkamali sila. Baka po may recommended shops kayo na medyo maalam na sa carens near Dasmarinas cavite. Also, may recommended motor oil po ba kayo na pwede ko gamitin sa carens ko (kahit semi or full synthetic). Salamat po

Based sa experience ko, it's still better sa casa pa rin. I've tried before sa others (kilala naman na car service) pero very in-experienced with Kia cars, kulang-kulang pa yung mga parts/supplies kaya nde na-service ng maayos.

Based on price, mahal lang ng konti ang casa and mukha lang mahal kasi mas sinusunod nila yung tamang pag palit ng mga parts kahit nde pa worn-out.

With the oil.. better go with fully-synthetic.. much better performance.. forgot what brand I used the last time.. hehehehe

ako naman nung December ni Rev ko ng ni Rev yung makina
siguro tumatakbo sa SLEX 2nd. gear mga 4,000 RPM for about 30 seconds
pa ulit ulit...then parang natanggal ata mga matinding soot...karagdagan na
rin kasi ng biyahe pa Bikol....

napapansin ko pag madalas talaga idling in traffic conditions madali nagbabara EGR....

anyway one of these days siguro gagawin ko na din 'yan EGR cleaning, mukhang kaya ng DIY
pero 3.5h? aaahay kapagod nga lang sigurado.

Thanks and welcome. Frequent idling din daw ang isa sa mga cause ng carbon buildup. Baka yung carbon buildup ang nagbabara sa EGR valve kaya nagkakaroon ng performance issues..

Kaya naman yung DIY although nagtaka din ako kung bakit 3.5 hours ang inabot (actually, me tinanggal pa na plastic cover sa ilalim ng engine bay) .. Sa susunod kung me budget at time, baka ipababa ko na rin yung tambutso para malinisan mabuti.. keep us updated sir sa DIY mo ng EGR..

Sir kaya siguro inabot ka ng 9k sa 60k pms eh kasama na diyan yung fuel filter (which costs about 2,200 pesos).. Malapit na rin ako mag 55k pms pero mukhang sa casa pa rin ako magpapaservice kasi tulad mo, I'm still not comfortable with the type of service outside of casa. Pero may mga tsikoteers na nakapag try na ng PMS sa labas ng casa

Hi Sir AcidSlide and Sir Hanren, salamat sa inyong suggestions and insights. Maybe, I would be having my caren's 60k kms pms sa casa muna, sa 65k na lang me magpa-pms outside casa. Pag major pms na lang me babalik ng casa. Thanks po ulit

By the way, has anyone tried yung "Motul Specific for Crdi" engine oil? Is it better ba to use it to legnthen the life of our car's engine or the mineral oil from casa is more than enough na since every 5k km lang naman ang palit natin? Thanks
