maybe they should have just reatined the name trooper and the chassis ang body it has ryt now and just chanegd the engine ot the one used by the alterra.. wat u think guys? hahahaah![]()
^ I totally agree with you sir!!:D pareho tayo ng naisip. ayoko kasi ng alterra eh. sobrang okay talaga saken ang Trooper ko. mas okay talaga kung ganun ang ginawa nila. kasi meron paring prado, pajero, at patrol. parang sumuko na ang Isuzu sa Trooper. sayang pa naman, ang tagal tagal na ng Trooper..![]()
o nga eh.. myabe papayag ang isuzu bibili tayo ng engine sa altera ang put it in our troopers.. but kaso lang 146hp lng ang altera and 160hp ang trooper natin... so para narin nag degrade tayo ng engine... heheheh....
IMO magkakaron pa rin yan. Dekada na rin ang Trooper. Two generations from ’81 to ’91 and the second generation from ’92 to ’02 when Isuzu ceased export of the model. ayaw ko rin ng alterra - pilit eh![]()
even if you take care of the trooper....meron tlga problem ang 4jx1
Two generations from ’81 to ’91 and the second generation from ’92 to ’02 when Isuzu ceased export of the model. ayaw ko rin ng alterra - pilit eh![]()
during the 55Tkm PMS, i told the SA about this injector issue... i'm not sure if he is reliable since he just transferred from nissan to isuzu for almost 6 months now...
the ffg are the answers to my questions:
1. they are not conducting a silent recall to their isuzu troopers.
2. they do not have a traceability of the affected injectors, they need to open the injector to verify the serial # to determine if affected or not... this justified #1 above.
3. only 1 o-ring is affected, they can replaced the o-rings at P1000+1500 labor in 2 days.
(in contrary to what i read that there are 4 o-rings w/c are affected in one injector... refer to pdf file on the previous thread).
4. not all troopers are affected, because they are servicing troopers as far * 100T+km & no o-ring injector replacements.
5. perhaps contrary to #4... it is advisable to replace the o-ring * 40Tkm
... w/ this, i just told him that i'll be asking them to replace the o-ring next time...
guys... as i backread this thread...
not all isuzu troopers are affected...the 4jg2 is not included.
the only defective troopers are the skyroof 2003 local 4jx1 engine.. and the bighorn that are bought from other sources like auction.
remember it is only the 4jx1 that have defective injectors. try to backread on the sites. very intersting that there was recall in the 4 countries mentioned.
try chatting up united kingdom or new zealand motor threads.. they will confirm that isuzu sent them letters informing them of the recall and they had to bring their units to be serviced.
in my opinion, ofcors no one in their right mind will speak out openly of the recall or of the defect. this is their own way to manage their damanged reputation. and the owners of the troopers are dealing with this in a very funny way.
some of the owners are trying to ignore the problem kc you cant accept the fact that sometime in the very near future, your injectors will give way and you will be left with junk. i sold mine for P600K a few months ago... better than trying to ignore the problem and defend isuzu philippines
try asking the service head the number of trooper units with injector problems and see if they can give you the actual number. then go inside the shop and observe how many units are being serviced.
its also funny why they will charge you for service, labor and parts for a vehicle that had a factory defect. if your backread and check the site, you can see that the trooper was discontinued back in 2002 and had a terrible record in countries where they had a recall.. the reason why they had to stop production of the trooper... isuzu admitted that in their website.
stop kidding yourselves trying to defend isuzu. once your trooper breaks down coz of the injectors, lets see if they give a ****...![]()
for those recalled unit... is there a guarantee that the problem will not exist anymore?
This is to voice my opinion:
As far as I know, I will never buy another Isuzu vehicle.
I acquired my 2003 Trooper Skyroof edition new from a local dealership, took care of the car, followed the maintenance schedule (i even replaced air and fuel filter more than prescribed), used their so called special oil from CASA, but after 4 years, the car showed the signs of what we 4jx1 owners would not want to see.
the fuel injector has to be replaced. other parts needs replacement as well. maybe my bad luck, but lo and behold, i experienced the faith.
Just like a lot of people suggested, get rid of your 4jx1 as soon as you can before the curse happens. Its okay if it's cheap to replace, but the reality is..its very expensive.
The car itself is expensive, and I was hoping my 4jx1 will last me for many years as I know Isuzu's are reliable and dependable. But I sold it before it will cause me problems with my wallet and psychologically (thinking if it will break or not, stop me while driving, etc.)
All throughout this thread, i supported the thread starter on his fight. Although at that time, my car didn't show any problem, so I can only support him with words. Although the fight ended in his favor, it has paved ways for IPC to open its eyes a bit.
I have silently battled my fight with this car and I could say I won. (I am no longer an owner of this model).
For tsikoteers who are 4jx1 owners, think very hard with regards to your vehicles. If you can..sell it now while resale value of the unit is okay.
You can ask your service advisors about this issue, one thing they will do is defend it or say nothing at all. It's true, many 4jx1 had their fuel injections replaced, burning around over P50k hole in their own pockets.
As one person mentioned here, try having your o-ring replaced. it will cost around P3k, depending on how many needs to be replaced.
--------------
On the good side of this vehicle:
I liked the power of the engine, smooth ride, smooth shift of it's automatic transmission, suspension, ABS, good stereo sound.
-------------
Now everytime I am on the road, I always pray that these 4jx1 on the road will not have the problems that my car had (replaced all parts necessary).
-------------
Again, this is my feelings because I experienced this faith. I just hope the parts replaced on my x-vehicle will work for a long long time for its new owner.
Just PM me if you have any questions, I am willing to answer and help.
I see alot of Troopers smoke belching. I have a friend who bought a brand new trooper couple of years back from a local dealer. Every morning when he starts it, all the neighbors complain about the excessive smoke and exhaust smell... the Isuzu dealer did not want to have the unit replaced even though the unit was not even a week old. My friend sued the dealer, the dealer eventually replaced his unit with a new unit... he sold the lemon and uses his 1995 Pajero...
hmm..another trooper owner that changed his fuel injectors. btw, i am assuming that this is your 2nd time to change your injectors (from your sentence above). if that is the case, even if you change injectors, it doesnt mean that it will last. so in short..they still havent solved the problem. i guess thats why it was trooper was discontinued.
what other parts did they recommend to change? let me guess, o-ring? rpcv? rpcv sensors?
regarding the catalytic converter, As i mentioned in this thread, a few pages back, service personnel also recommended to take the honey comb filter out, but if you think about it...isnt it there because the car is euro 3 or 4 compliant. hmmmm... (although our diesels here are not applicable to the cars features)
mars18: i hope your trooper becomes okay with your FI change and other things. I do like the look and stance of the trooper..but overall....its not worth all the money being given to maintain a lemon.
