Planning to DIY ng OCC, meron na ko steel wool and aluminum can.

in my case, yun abang ng inlet/outlet ng filter housing is 1/2"NPT , i just buy the necessary GI ang brass fitting that is both 1/2NPT yun thread, and then i just choose the chemical hose which is slightly larger than the OEM rubber hose from the rocker cover. to prevent restricted airflow to the pre turbo, btw, i buy all the necessary fitting, clamps from A hardware store behind the 7/11 store located at the corner of recto and t. mapua st. Ang scotch brite stainless steel wool na ginamit ko ay malambot, para nga siya plastic coils, pliable, I don't think it will disintegrate easily into small pieces para mahigop ng intake. Ipinagpag ko pa muna and made sure na wala loose shavings. Will serve as demister where oil vapor will stick and condense, hindi enough ang wall ng catch tank to condense the oil mist.

4 months and 3,000 km later.........

    image.jpg

20ml plus from the oil catch can and still have oil dripping from the stainless steel buffer... effective din yun occ otherwise all of these oil mist will goes directly to the turbo.......

Serviced the OCC of my 4AFE, got almost 50ml for 13 wks/3k kms daily use, ganda ng sunog ng SPs, light golden brown. It really is a big help, clean intake, long service life ng SPs, very functional.

Bro, back read ka, may descriptions how to DIY. I installed DIY OCC sa 4JA1 turbo direct injection engine ng Fuego ko, big help sa turbo, hindi na pinapasok ng oil from valve cover. Meron pictures posted sa Fuego owners thread.

IMO, dapat lagyan din ng OCT ang mga new engines...kahit kasi bago, for sure, meron na din oil mist iyan na circulate from valve cover to intake. Kung gases, okey lang sama sa intake for combustion, pero ang oil, hindi, lalo at meron turbo, it will destroy the fins in the long run. It adds protection and cleans the engine, also minimize hydrocarbons being released to our environment thru the exhaust.
