*tisoy555: Not sure if yours is 2.5L or 3.0L but 2.5k rpm on a 3.0L is in the area of around 120 to 130 kph, I believe.

Maybe it's the spool of turbo? I hear it from time to time too especially when cruising.

But some time last yr, sir vanleano posted the same thing as yours and I believe he has the all new Dmax. May naririnig daw siyang parang sipol and he thinks it's coming from the side mirror. He hasn't updated us on what was their finding and the fix.

*tracymcgrady: If I am not mistaken, 1.5 steel bars are enough to reach that "thing" that you have to turn to lower/lift the spare tire. But you still need the others so you can rotate it.

Insert it in a slanting/diagonal manner. Slanting/diagonal means the bars shouldn't hit the region where you plate number light is located when they are inserted. Maybe around 10 degrees to your right when you insert. You would feel if you hit the mark coz the shape of the tip of the bar will fit on that "thing" inside. Then turn. Use the hole in the middle of the tire wrench to rotate the steel bars.

After 2 yrs & 3 months, my Motolite battery gave in already. Ang mahal na. It cost 5800 and that is with the trade in price already. Gusto ko sanang mag try ng ibang brands but if I have to go far, wag na lang. Very accessible ko sa Motolite AD sa place namin so ok na ako doon.

Less than 700 kms to go and it's already 120k kms and ipapa check ko kasi tumutunog ulit ung parang sound ng torque wrench when you rotate it. And from my experience before, that was the timing chain/gear. But it is still faint and it comes and goes.

*bugoys: Sir, nasa 2,250 rpm ung 100 kph. Nasa 1st line after 2k rpm which is 2,250 rpm since there are 3 lines in between the 2k to 3k rpm. Not sure kung sa cruising mode kasi I did that while gaining momentum. Most likely baka same lang yan.

Sayang I wasn't able to check another full tank method kung nasa 11+ km/liter padin ang lalabas sa computation kasi my battery had to be replaced and I forgot to jot down the last km reading so I could total it to the km reading when I had it filled. FC reading on my dash is still at 10 km/liter by the way.

Nice!

*rna- Mos prolly same lang yun, kasi as you mentioned, you're on momentum.

Btw, I've test driven na pala the new dmax ls a/t. It's fine, but I feel na mahina yung acceleration compared to our old ls m/t, dahil siguro sa lost hp sa torque converter, or baka hinde ko lang din masyado na floor yung pedal, thus parang mabagal. 100kph is still * 2000 rpm. Suprisingly, soft nga yung ride, even compared to our '08 dmax. Naka coil over spring pa yung harap ng bago ngayon, compared to the old's front shock absorber only. I was expecting it to be more stiffer kasi nga coil over spring na. Also, parang sa sobrang soft nya pag nakargahan na ng medyo mabigat, aangat na kaagad yung unahan, which is somewhat a deal breaker for me, kasi we usually put heavy items for delivery to the point na umangat na yung front. Tsk. Now, I want to test drive the hilux, dmax being my benchmark.

I spoke to an sa for toyota, and he said that the all new hilux daw would be released by mid of this year. Also I've read sa top gear na they MIGHT release the 3.0 vgs for the MUX, for the dmax, no news, but crossing my fingers they would. I have to convince my mom to postpone the purchase till mid of this year to wait for the all new hilux, and or the improved engine. If we end up getting the dmax 4jj1 on June/July, i'm screwed, for postponing tapos yun din pala ang bagsak. Hahahah.

Yung LS A/T na tinest drive mo, was it a 3.0 or 2.5? My hunch is it was a 2.5 coz you have felt the difference in power.

Baka mas magustuhan mo ang Hilux when you test drive it considering that it has VNT already. True workhorse din yan like the Dmax.

I am not sure with the Hilux kasi na mule stage padin ata siya sa Thailand so medyo malabo na mari release ang all new sa atin this year. Ung Navara ang most probably dadating.

Its a 3.0 same engine as the old. I don't think they have a 2.5 a/t model for the dmax. Baka hinde ko lang na feel mabuti, I'd schedule another one siguro, vis a vis our old dmax. Mukhang malabo pa nga talaga yung all new hilux, to be released this year. Latest we can buy is mid of this year na. Heheheh.

Btw, I just diy cleaning the egr! Hahahah! After a half an hour of rubbing elbows and hands everywhere, I managed to remove it. It was not clogged as I thought it would be, but there are minimum carbon deposit, 1 can of carb cleaner and its clean as a whistle! Putting it in was a breeze, but the 2 bottom part screws were the toughest to remove and tighten. Got a few cuts in my hands and arms, a dirty shirt, and a big grin in my face! Hahahah.

Tested it with no cel or whatsoever. Yey! Kaso fc didn't change. I'm 80% convinced its on the oil. Heheheh.

Wow, good job in your DIY EGR valve cleaning. Kaso when I saw the pros do it, wala pang 3 mins ata tanggal na ang valve. Mukhang matinding laban mo before mo natanggal, sir.hehe Torque wrench, then extension and ung "thing" to remove the screws lang ata ung ginamit niya.

If it's the 3.0, I wonder how it was different in terms of acceleration considering same figures sila. Ganyan ung engine ng kay sir Djerms.

Hahahah! I think, next time mas mabilis ko na matatanggal. Yep, i have that 3" extension, pero hinde ko nagamit. Most useful was the "flower" wrench 12mm, and the socket nw/o extension. Yung lang, matagal. Yep, will check it further if it will improve. To be honest i'm ok with 8.++ kms/l, other brands do it worse than that. Its just that it was at 10-11 most of the time sa dash before, so that got me really thinking. Buti nalang mura diesel. Heheheh.
