actually the 4x2 d-max even in thailand has front coils spring suspension. while here to save on costs siguro they made the 4wd and 2wd the same lang. kinuha lang ang front diff and transfer case.
ARB,
I know it's costly but theoretically, is it possible to convert the front suspension from torsion bars to those coil springs?
Arb,
official distributor sa Philippines is RATS 4x4, they have branches in makati and katipunan.

Provincial retailer lang kami.
in theory pwede, but it will involve a lot of things, unless you can buy a front cut ng 2wd d-max then transplant na lang. But if youre planning to spend that much, look na lang for a 4wd front cut and make your 2wd a 4wd.
Good pm guys! I heard rumors that they would selling the dmax with crdi engines.. Is that true guys?! when kaya ito available sa market?
thats what I heard also, there will be a facelifted d-max coming out daw. but as to when wala pang date.
para sa akin ayaw ko pang lumabas ung bagong dmax. maluluma lang dmax ko. new engine plus fase-lifted design of the new dmax equals lower resale value of our old reliable dmax..
My take on Monroe and KYB shocks for Dmax rear:
Monroe gas Magnum 60
Initially I was happy with the result. Ride was firm but not that harsh. I tried to put in 3 sacks of sand around 60 kilos total to improve the ride and it did. IMO this brand is ideal if you are an everyday hauler. If you travel most of the time by yourself however, I would recommend a slightly softer shocks, or you may put in sacks of sand as what I did if you prefer to maintain this heavy duty item. Since I travel alone most of the time, I shifted to a softer one...the KYB fluid type and just went away with loading sacks of sand since this also adds to fuel consumption.
The KYB FLuid shocks: Part no.443217
Ideal if you are travelling alone most of the time. Not as heavy duty as the monroes (even thinner than the stock gas shocks of the dmax) but it gives a softer and more comfortable ride if bed is unladen. It might give a vague response from the rear but I prefer this than a sporty feel since I don't race my truck through corners anyway.
As a result I am now selling my 1 week old monroe gas magnum 60's (rear shocks) at a very very low price since I have no use for them anymore. PM me nalang. hehe (ayos ba sa plugging). I highly recommend this if you use your truck as a daily workhorse.
HTH
Jason,
Hehe, naawa kasi ako kay kumander hindi makatulog when I was still using monroes.
hell oguys, its been a long time.... hehehe.... ano na nangyari? dami na niyo napost ah.... grabe... sa coils naman, ypu thialnd has itbut sa older dmax nila... it was sought out that the coil would eventually soften up ng mas madali form what they expected.. just like the hi lux... kay they revert back to torsion bars. but meron din naman country that is still applying it btu yun nga lang.. it wears out faster than the torsion.. sa road condition ng pinas.. wel, madali nga maging weak ang coils...
Jarhead: Nakakatawa post mo...nakainom ka yata ah,. hehe.
Re:Coils - I think its better that we have torsion bars. Mas convenient mag lift. Yung coils naman kasi yata ng hilux malambot thats why the front is dropping.
I plan to have mine adjusted at 25tkms. May black metal cover pa yata on top of the actual valve cover? Mahirap ba tanggalin?
guys question lang, what kind of shell engine oil do the casa use in our dmax? Kasi nakalagay sa receipt "IGNO In drum" (not sure, something like that). Para in the future,sa labas nalang ako pachange oil.
and what replacement brakepads are you using? Bendix kaya maganda? whats the part no.? Thanks.
Jason,
Text ko sayo part number when I get home. Nasa box kasi. But I know naipost na ni ARB yan dito sa thread before.
Bendix is good. Im very happy with its performance considering that its a lot cheaper than the originals. I got mine PhP1,400 a pair.
As for the engine oil, Isuzu Pasig uses Shell Rimula X on our Dmax. By the way, wag ka bibili ng parts sa casa if ever sa labas ka papagawa. May added VAT pa sila.
thanks 2dmax.
BTW GUYS, I'M SELLING OEM TURBO TIMER AND VOLT METER FOR D-MAX. Bolt On lang to. Text me nalang sa 09178492849. Ang installation sa speedyfix shaw blvd gagawin. Actually kaya ko rin magparating ng arm rest for our dmax kaso lang baka mamoblema lang ako dahil hindi compatible yun lock nya sa dmax natin.
