I read in Topgear(somewhere) why there are soooo many pick-ups in thailand is bec. pickups enjoy somesort of tax exemption - which makes it even more affordable than an ordinary compact.

Wow dami nyo na posts ah

I have a pic shot of the cone type K&N, I think sa page 36 or something in that region hehe. I can't really say that it has added "significant hp" as the slogan goes, even though we have been using K&Ns for the last 11 years or so.

What I can tell you is that there is smoother/quicker delivery on accelaration compared to stock.

LS & LX Parehas lang....acceleration, max speed, stability on high speed (160kph+), riding comfort and porma/stance.

Hindi ko naitest sa hard braking...kung gaano kabilis mag-lock-up ang preno ng LX....sa LS, okay na okay ang ABS sa akin...alam kong gumagana. Hindi ako takot mag-hard brake sa LS ko. I remember nuon, using a frontier, nag-lock-up preno ko sa hard braking while I was on 150kph....scary...ayokong subukan sa dmax LX...hehehe.

Yun new release ng LX, nakahiwalay na ang switch ng fog lamps...wala na sa lever ng ilaw.

    Wildthing,
So sa safety department lang pala talaga nagkaiba. I was expecting na may kaunting pagkakaiba sa ride comfort being a locally assembled unit ang LS.

IMO talagang sulit ang ABS. Give you straight line stopping when needed the most.

    mephs,

I don't think you'll need any load plus.

On stock configuration, I can load as much as 600kg sa bed then, nagdadagdag ako ng another 250kg sa rear passenger ... hindi naman lumulundo ang pick-up ng husto (very slight lang ang taas ng front).

But you can feel na medyo mahina ang kagat ng front tires sa steering (to remedy this, I under inflate the front tires para mas maygrip ang gulong - bigger surface area contact).

I have been driving pick-up almost all my 20+ years driving so hindi rin kasi naninibago ang likod ko sa "tagtag" ng pick-up compared to cars' riding comfort. In fact, mas matagtag ang frontier than a dmax...so pasalamat pa nga ako sa dmax.

Very sulit ang ABS...I tend to drive hard and fast and I can really feel the ease and convenience of an ABS. I can do late brakes than with a non-ABS equipt ride without worrying that I'll hit anything.

If there's anything na ayaw ko lang itest ay ang airbag.

Sa newer release LX, lumalaki na ang difference nito sa LS model pero it seems mostly aesthetics lang and difference and the ABS and airbag.

The main thing that I noticed sa loadplus is that the rear dosen't tend to "squat" as much under heavy load even with 400kg (even more). Sa ride naman ok lang, tried also x_jason_x style na lagyan ng sack of sand for daily driving and it really help improve the ride
I would like to try nga yung inverted leaf technic. By the way, I didn't buy the loadplus, it was given to me by a buddy who sold his Dmax earlier this rear swerte ko lang.

yup very effective talaga yun sack of sand. mga 40 kilos lang yun peor sure na lalakas ng kaunti yun consumption ng diesel pero gaganda naman ride lalo na para dun sa mga nakasakay sa back seats.

then that's my next project then. inverting the leafspring first, then installation of IRONMAN LOADPLUS.

    Costs:

    Inverting: 590 php(c/o Goodyear Servitek)
    Loadplus: 3200 php (sa Banaue)

ok na ba ung labor cost of inverting c/o servitek? baka may ma-suggest pa kayong mas mura? hehe

hindi lang gaganda ng ride, but also gaganda ang stability 'coz mas makapit this time ang rear wheels against the pavement..

but looking into the picture nga pala and simulating first with the wheel tire of the DMAX against the pavement, then simulating again with the dmax body acting downward on the suspension, i think the LOADPLUS is immediately functiong/acting, although we can see that the end is hanging.. and also the LOADPLUS webpage doesn't remark on stock ride comfort without load or two-stage action. otherwise manufacturer will say so..
