Kamusta mga dmax owners? Nabenta na Dmax ko. Preparing for a wedding kasi. Pag naka settle down na at nagkapera ulit, bili ako new alterra or dmax.
Memphis,
Attachment 8542
Kailangan pang linisin yung excess fiberglass and re-touch the uneven surface.
Eto ang molde niya:
Attachment 8543
Ang kailangan na lang ay yung locking mechanism sa likod...kailangan ko pang maggawa ng isa pang molde to do it....then ididikit yun sa center cap front.
Mga two weeks pa at most (nasa Davao ako whole week next week eh) before I can send the proto-type sa iyo.
Wow galing mo pre! You learn fast from that seminar![]()
Just like the original!
Mahirap bang gawin ang mold? Looks like you now have a new and profitable hobby![]()
the molde is from RTV (room temp vulcanizing rubber).
the original hub cap kailangan lang punasan ng very thin coat ng petroleum jelly (ex. vaseline) bago ibuhos yung RTV (liquid form ito before ito magcure) para hindi ito kumapit sa original. Maghaharden into rubber consistency yung molde pagnagset na.
it all boils down to practice and technique para magawa ito PERFECTLY. My mold above was not perfect kaya kailangan pang iretouch yung final product.
Tapos kaya makintab yung final product, merun "gel kote" resin ito - na ginawa kong slight grayish color (by adding color pigment dun sa white the gel resin). Then a layer of fiberglass and regular resin (para dumikit yung fiberglass). The fiberglass is needed to strengthen it.
Then that's it...just wait to dry.
Someday (kung mapagaralan ko na how) ipopost ko sa you tube yung DVD video clip ng "how to" nila.
Alternatively, if you want to learn this...they (Polymer products Phils) have a Cebu branch and you can get this video from them - I-scan ko na lang yung manual and notes nila from the seminar (if they are not selling it in cebu). Pati yung needed ingredients merun din sila.
Pagkatapos ng bed cover, I'll do the shaved-tail and the bed cover...pag tinopak ako baka isang buong bed cover (carryboy/camper shell) ang gawin ko rin... I'm dreaming of a cover to imitate the modelong SUBURBAN rear![]()
wildthing,

What you need is the "How-To" DVD - 2 DVD disks on Polymer for P400. Hindi ko pa alam paano ito iconvert kasi and upload to You Tube...pero plan ko ito iupload someday. It tackles all our lecture.
Mayroon din itong "How-to" Manual (but I am not sure if they sell this) given to us on our seminar (cost P2000 pero 2.5 days na lecture - almost 2 days yung hands-on). Bawi sa materiales yung lectur plus some questions can be answered by the lecturer pa.
Kung di nila binebenta yung manual, I can scan the manual and post it for downloading din.
tnx again wildthing, pupuntahan ko 'to priority 1st week next month, 5 mins. drive lang pala from the haus, inquire ko na din if they conduct seminar on "how-to's".....malaking bagay for technical know-how and baka sakali makagawa ng fiber hood with scoop sa D-max,,hehehehe
..
madugong project yung hood for the Dmax... kasi pag ginamit mo yung original na hood as model, you need to remove it from the pick-up and it might take about 2 or 3 days to finish (preparation and drying ng mold).
Tapos there is a big risk that the paint will be damaged (hindi kasi RTV mold process ito) during the mold making process kasi pagganyan kalaki ideal to do fiberglass mold process... so be ready to have it repainted
....
Oo nga, great thanks to the ever industrious wildthingmeron ng compitensya sa A-Toy! Isuzu Cebu called me up earlier this week and informed me that they now have a "new" price bale P3,250 na each!
Eyeball tayo together with the others here who are from Cebu/Bohol (jarhead) when you get back. Let's ask Jubilum if he can also join us.
I have two good friends that have car shops here na pwede nating ipabenta
.
