ganun b.. sir icheck mo kung ano parts pinalitan baka meron lang replacement... hehehe... filter sa honda nasa 170+ lang and the oil kung honda orig gamitin nasa 2000 something ang price per gallon... but i chose not to, sabi nila extended waranty for 1 year daw sa engine if i use orig honda... i dont buy that kc honda engines are matibay naman and 4 years doesnt mean much use or abuse sa car na masira ang engine.... i only do less than a 10,000 kms per year... air cleaner and aircon filters ang mejo mahal banayaran ko the last time i had it checked sa honda...

sir, trooper lang ang mejo sosyal sa oil.. it needs a very specific oil.. dmax as long as multigrade yan, no prob... but be sure to use a 15w40 sa new dmax (crdi) it doesnt need a thick oil... ako im using a fully synthetic oil sa dmax namin but ours is the old one... but still i change oil very 5,000kms kahit naka fully synthetic ako kc you have to consider naman your filter, it wasnt designed to last more than 5,000 kms. pwede naman gamitin but baka barado or not performing at its best ang filter kung patagalin pa, be it a original or a replacement... i use MANN FILTER 10w40 fully synthetic.. european brand cya..

Mine is the 4x2 08 Dmax LS and with regards to the noise, for me it's really noisy especially when I arrive home during the wee hours, I could really hear the crackling of the engine and sometimes it makes me feel that there is something wrong with the engine - though I know there is none. I even think that it is noisier than my older truck.

With regards to top speed, I have no idea with the old one but with mine, the peak that I have reached was 174 kph and the needle just didn't want to go up anymore.

I have a neighbor who owns the old one and everytime we talk and I ask him how's his truck, he always tells me all praises. He said that he prefers driving it as compared to the Strada (the one prior to the latest model) since it is better in terms of FC and overall he said that he just prefers driving it.

I was also in a dilemma before I acquired my truck. I was considering the Strada, Hilux and Navara too and it was just so hard on what should I get. I was in the market for the 4x2 so in terms of looks, I immediately ruled out the Hilux since it terms of engine and exterior, it really couldn't grow on me. So what was left were Strada, Dmax and Navara. Of course at that time, price also came into play. As much as possible, I want the all in one package. For Strada, the bed is too small for me but the price is so reasonable particularly for the GLX variant considering that it has a powerful engine as well. For Navara, it is kinda pricey and I was kinda wishy washy on the 6 speed engine but overall, that is my kind of truck. Good looking, powerful engine, the wow factor is there. Then Dmax arrived in picture. Everything that I am looking for in a truck, I found it in Dmax, well as far as this generation is concerned. The looks, the engine, the size of the bed, size of interior, everything, the price is mediocre so I said I will get this one.

Now for the power or performance, I would say that it's not the fastest truck out there but it I could say that it could really run but don't expect to feed dust on the vehicle, particularly on the same level, if they want to give a little adrenalin rush. So much for the racing mode, if you're the kind of person who drives only from point A to point B and doesn't give a damn that even a biker could outrun you, well this truck would be way over your expectation. Its engine is powerful and very responsive. As I have said in my previous post, I peaked 174 kph and to me, that's already too much speed, though I want some more, considering that it's a truck. For fuel consumption, this one it varies on your driving style. If you drive like there is no tomorrow, don't expect it to give you the extra miles. But on the average, to me it registers around 12.5 km/liter. On its 1st 1500 kms, the most that I reached was more than 1000 + kms on 1 full tank. I just couldn't remember on the exact figures but back then, I was only on the 80 to 100 kph mark. For maintenance, I really couldn't comment on this yet since it is too early to tell. I haven't even reached my 3rd PMS yet. For the prices of the PMS, it's already posted so just look on the previous posts for reference.

For the others, I guess they are marketing gimmicks in terms of the radio or freebies but all in all, all the trucks that are in the market right now are at par with each other. In the end, it is still up to you on what really fits your taste and needs. Goodluck in your pickup hunting and hopefully I helped you in choosing the Dmax as your next vehicle.

1st PMS: 3,478.27 Change Oil and Oil filter. Free Labor
2nd PMS: 2,226.83 Same as the above.

For the succeeding PMS, I inquired on the prices and the guy showed a paper with the following figures. I forgot to ask though if the price of labor is inclusive.

    10k PMS: 6,020.27
    15k PMS: 4,788.71
    20k PMS: 10,371.15
    25k PMS: 4,788.71
    30k PMS: 6,567.71
    35k PMS: 4,788.71
    40k PMS: 11,662.78

Please take note that the above prices are based on what I saw in their list and you know them, they could change the figures anytime so it's still best to ask them first for more accurate figures. Hope this helps! Go Dmax!

Honestly I don't have any idea on what kind of oil they use. All I do is bring the car there and just let them do their job. But I think, based on those prices, it would be safe to say that they used the semi synthetic on my PMS. On my receipts, it just says IGMO which I think stands for Isuzu Genuine Motor Oil. I am due for my 3rd PMS and I will ask them on what kind of oil they use.

not exactly... its usually multigrade oil... not unless the owner woudl say na synthetic ilagay either semi or fully... much better siguro uung crdi dmax nyo naka synthetic oil kayo... synthetic usually gamit ng ibang crdi engines... hindi pa kc crdi d-max namin but im using a fully synthetic oil every 5,000 kms na change oil... hehehe... and yeah original oil ng isuzu ang gigagamit ng casa,, dont know lang tlaga kung sinusunod nila yun...

I just had my 3rd PMS and it cost me P5,643.29. The service attendant at Isuzu told me that they give discount if customers pay in cash. So those figures that I have posted previously, I checked it with what they have and it's still the same but as per the attendant, those prices will be cheaper if I'll pay in cash.

For the query of Ms. st_omach, I also inquired on what kind of oil they use. The first attendant told me something but he couldn't really tell me in what category does it belong whether synthetic or semi synthetic. So the other attendant butt in and he said it's mineral oil.

My odometer already registered 10,799 when I had my 3rd PMS and so far so good.

*jarhead: You're using fully synthetic oil and still you change oil every 5,000 kms!?! Well I guess if your truck could only speak, it would really thank you a lot.hehe I have tried using a fully synthetic oil once in my other car and it was so expensive. I used Mobil 1. But I always have my service ever 5k so I said that it is not necessary to use fully synthetic anymore.

yup i am changing oil every 5,000kms even if im using a fully synthetic oil... you to take into consideration not just the oil you are using but also the OIL FILTER itself... those things arent designed to last or filter good for a long time... your oil might last but your filter wont be in its full capacity to filter or do its job... if your thinking that it cost alot, not that much because i have found an oil brand that has the fully synthetic grade or quality but is very cheap and still is a good brand... you could look for MANN_HUMMEL oils if you want.. they have this fully synthetic oil that is just affordable... not like mobil1 which is like 500+ pesos for every liter... i tried using the petron all-terrain and didnt like the performance it gave for a fully synthetic oil...

bro the best thing to do is post a new thread under CAR COMPARISON. STRADA bro, walang pick up na ESTRADA.

i strongly suggest to test drive both vehicles, i guarantee you, there's no other way to compare.

Ok guys I just had my clutch replaced under warranty from Isuzu Ayala Cebu.

So for those of you who have been experiencing that horrific sounding clatter sound when you depress the clutch when idling/parked here is what we found during the service - defective clutch spring.

It wasn't the release bearing as we earlier suspected - that bearing was perfectly intact. They simply replaced the clutch disc with an OEM type. Wish I could provide pictures but I didn't bring my cam at the time of service which was done in less than two hours. As it turned out, in 2008, they have replaced defective clutch springs in about 5 D-max units.

Kudos to Nolan and his super efficient 'Pit Crew' who made the replacement look like child-play. They even checked my suspension, some electricals, fluids, etc.

    Mystery solved
