kuya the sound is different like a purring cat na mababang boses... mabass ang tunog overall it does NOT sound like the noisy mufflers you buy, you just hear the turbo under the truck when you revv it... im happy also with the performance no question about it!!! ^_^ peace...

Ok that's a nice upgrade to your pick-up. How about performance did it increase in power?

Thank you for the info on the sound if the new piping as i thought it would be noisy.

nasira na yun evaporator coil ko. at 4 years old sya itong kotse na ito ang pinaka maaga nasira yun evaporator. to think kakalinis lang nun Feb (2nd time in four years). hindi na makuha sa hinang. dumami pa nga after takpan yun unang butas.

options; pina canvass ko yun aircon repair shop ko (theyre skilled naman but hindi ko lang gusto yun selection nila ng parts, if i can i want to source my parts)

original daw (but no part no. cant even tell the brand/manufacturer, calsonic denso o sanden), laminated?, will cost 6500.

yun imported replacement, serpentine? around 4500.

aside from the casa, and walco (wala sila) san kaya makabili na genuine dmax evaporator coil? if not may good, direct o exact replacement type ba na availalbe?

    thanks

ps. note to self, apply that 3m aircon filter idea from earlier posts.

I guess mahirap maghanap ng OEM na evaporator aside from the casa. Sa Thailand pa lang kasi nakainstall na yung aircon ng D-Max. You can try sa Walco or Jayson Auto Supply. Kung merong replacement ang Sanden, maganda na rin yun at tumatagal din naman.

The reason kaya nagkakabutas ang aluminum coils is because of corrosion. Pag hininang, yung ibang part naman ang magkocorrode kaya parami ng parami yung butas. It's cheaper to replace the coils outright pag nabutas.;)

    thanks for the reply,

to save money without sacrificing too much on quality parts, im more inclined to try the imported replacement evaporator coil because i used one to replace the original denso coil of our 1996 corolla. since 2003 once palang pinalinis ok pa naman lamig hangang ngayon. ito pang sa dmax na regular ang cleaning angnasira.

pero im still canvassing, ang checkingout the coils themselves, iba parin original. ive seen my share of auto aircon parts - a replacement might nearly match the original's quality (hence tatagal rin)

but iba parin yun design ng original (thinner and more numerous and more compact coils hence better cooling efficiency)

finally replaced my evaporator coil. total bill is 6000.
used the replacement serpintine type, with only 12 rows of fin vs. 21 for the original.

nakita ko yun original na alok sa akin, i wasnt impressed. pareho yun design halos but the metal surface wasnt as shiny (same color as the replacement, it even looks like they have the same manufacturer).

buteven with regular cleaning i ended up with a busted coil. so ok na rin yun replacement. Made in Thailand daw and its made for the dmax. PACO ata yun brand

wildthing, mukang kayang-kaya mong magmolde nung cartridge frame para dun sa DIY cabin air filter. Mag-improvise ka na lang ng clips to hold the 3M filter.

    Ok lang yun. No rush.

Mukhang through time kasi magkakalasug-lasog yung cardboard frame tapos yun naman ang babara sa evaporator.

    isketi,

tridrive aircon, small shop near marcos hiway cor petron/zexel, rightturn dun.

been a customer of their's for a long time kaya may loyalty discount.

pero i think supplier dependent yun quality ng parts, QC based ata, deliver lang parts on PO basis.

kaya yun regular aircon shop mo might get a similar part at different price. or they could get a better looking evaporator.

my unit's markings are PACO, CID-03-L isuzu dmax, some thailand sticker.
