May 19th, 2013 08:28 PM #2341to bong724,
i'm not a crosswind master but i would like to reply to your post,
second hand will always be second hand, there will always be something to fix even if the seller will tell you there is none. as a buyer specially with your budget of 800k, you will have a high expectation of the unit you will buy and that will disappoint you. so, you must inspect you prospect unit carefully. please back read my posts #s 2318 and 2322 on what to do with a second hand buy.
i made a comparison with sportivo x and xt, there are 21 differences all in favor to sportivo x justifying the the price difference of 217k. the differences are in the form of sporty look, safety, comfort and enterntainment. (for example, the sportivo x is heavier making it more stable but giving more pressure on the engine and brake system.)
If you give priority to the above differences -specially the sporty look- then go for the second hand sportivo, just look around for a good unit.
If not, then buy the xt. a brand new is a brand new. but you will spend some amount (say a fortune) to modify the xt. the necessary mods are the side step board and rear spoiler with third brake light. around 15k na mga yan.
hope this post helps

hello bong724, likewise, not a master. just a DIY guy with a 2003 XUV.
all previous replies/comments/inputs re the Sportivo & XT are on the dot. to share with you my views on the 2 models,
Sportivo is a loaded version meant for more luxurious experience (isuzu style).
XT is also good specially if you want to use it for "harabas". designed & geared more as a workhorse for business.
it all depends on what purpose your father has in mind.
Both are good but don't expect to be racing with it in the streets.
do take note that of the vehicles flooded during ONDOY, the Crosswinds were one of the first to be repaired and roaming the streets again in no time. other vehicles spent MONTHS in repair shops and casas... in general.
The isuzu engine, if cared for properly, will give you decades (pun intended) of service. kahit mabulok na ang body, aarya pa rin ang makina at maaasahan.

hello tagas,
try to find a PMS checklist (Periodic Maintenance Service Checklist). you can start with one found on this link:
Periodic Maintenance Service - Isuzu Philippines
then you will have to research further on this matter as you go along. encompassing all aspects of your vehicle's maintenance.
each individual driver (or owner, if you prefer riding in the back seat rather than driving) have different preferences, views & tolerance when it comes to maintenance.
there are those who say "basta umaandar at makarating sa paroroonan, ok na yan..." have a lower concern for maintenance.
whereas there are those who say "madumi yung carpet at engine room! huwag nyo muna gamitin yung sasakyan.." are sticklers and have waaay too much concern naman.
it will all depend on your choice, habits & preferences.

Thank you for your advise, our main purpose for buying a crosswind is for family use and daily use and d ko nabanggit may 5km pala na rough road sa amin na mdadaanan in everyday use ng sasakyan. speed is no big deal for us mka 80-100 kph lng ok na since wala naman expressway dun sa province. most important to us is the reliability of the vehicle, maintenance cost and fuel consumption. comfort issue d cguro masyado ksi nga napagtyagaan nga yung otj namin na d power steering at dalawang bomba pa ng brake bago kumagat

May 23rd, 2013 04:24 PM #2349Hi Angelo! that is the question also in my mind last march and I decided to go to crosswind XT. So far don't have any regret in choosing crosswind because of engine durability, comfortability and fuel efficiency. My crosswind won the 1st prize in fuel efficient challenge at Izusu QA Family Day held last May 18, 2013 by getting 24.18 KM/LTR. Can't believe before but its true
