Crosswind 2007 inquiry

hello everyone. for a couple of weeks now, i'm still uncertain if getting the new isuzu crosswind (2007) XTi is a smart choice.
i've been reading almost all discussions here about xwind and am surprised on some comments like maingay ang makina, prone sa rust.
ngayon lang ak bibile ng brand new vehicle at ire regalo ko ito sa parents ko.
pls advise kung ok ba ang choice?

Maugong lang hindi maingay timing gear kasi ginagamit nito kaya maugong pero less maintenance/worry free naman compared sa mga gumagamit ng timing belt. Prone sa rust? Sinong nagsabi pukpukin ko

It's a good choice. Mas ok ngang bilhin ang XTi hindi matalbog compared sa XUV/Sportivo

IMO Innova nalang bigay mo, i dont know though if solved na problema ng D4D.

Xwind and adventure is too old, walang katapusang facelift OMG.

I don't consider crosswind or sportivo maingay...

mas maingay pa nga yung ibang diesel revo eh... yung exhaust at bass sound... yun ang masakit sa tenga....

though kung pang regalo... hanap mo na ako ibang vehicles... bakit, may dami pa rin bang pasahero yung parents mo sir?

Relatively maingay, yes, but rust-prone? Will have to check. I do have rust on my 99 Hilander, but it's been beaten half to death already... the 02 and 04 Crosswinds are still okay.

If it's for your parents, you might want to consider something that rides softer, like an Innova. If you're using it for work, a Crosswind is just fine.

rion, di nman sa madaming pasahero, around anim lang silang gagamit. kaya lang iniisip ng tatay ko ung time na maga-out of town (siguro approx mga 3x per month). but mostly pang city driving lang. pareho na silang retired. bale personal use nila ito.

naiisip ko lang kasi ung fuel efficiency ng xwind. tapos lakas pa humatak. kung sa outer appearance, imo, parang mas ok ung xwind2007 (disagree ata ung iba.hehe)

pero sa tingin ko mukang halos lahat ata e innova over xwind...

Mas maraming mahahatak ng Crosswind versus Innova, pero masakit sa katawan yun for long trips... depending on tires. We just changed our XUV's tires to Michelins and filled with Nitrogen... medyo lumambot din ang ride... sa wakas...

4ja-1 uses timing gear kaya considered siya na maingay / maugong ika
nga ni syuryuken, pero less maint pagdating sa belt replacement.
uses only 4 liters of motor oil, mura mga filters (oil/fuel) etc. 11-12 kms/li
city driving, malakas a/c. tungkol sa rust prone? hindi po. at malaking factor
dito kung may garahe.

IMO kahit ngayon sa budget na 800K at m/t - diesel: xti rin ako may turbo pa.

Nag ka-canvass din kasi ako ng family vehicle. Meron akong ride, Honda pero pag buong pamilya na ang may lakad, di na pupuwede.

I'm setting my sights on the new Ford Everest (2.5 Variant), lakas daw humatak, pero grabe raw "humigop" ng krudo (as per Tsikoteers feedback). So magastos din pala ito, and also a bit pricey. Second option ko ngayon, this Crosswind XTi. Matipid sa krudo, below P1M ang price (around P890k?) and can also take 7 passengers.

Pero bago ako mag-decide, wait muna ako sa mga additional feedbacks.

pag medyo bago pa ride mo, tolerable naman, you just have to increase your stereo volume pag medyo may edad na engine, medyo maingay na, and may sound like an elf truck but not like a jeepney. after all, the 4ja1 was originally the engine of the isuzu elf trucks. on long drives, the aubidle hum and grunt of the engine can get tiring though, and the lack of power for fast overtaking may sometimes get irritating. but otherwise, ok naman sya and fuel efficiency and engine durability really is proven and tested in my case. had it not for the muffler and radiator issue, i would have been perfectly happy with my xto. pero sabi nila solved na daw yung two issues na yan so, give it a test drive muna. the everest is nicer but as you said, fuel efficiency is not its forte.

hindi naman tunog jeep dahil may resonator naman ito typical na isuzu engine
vibrations at pino lalo kapag brand new. Inside, tolerable naman kasi love ko
naman ang tunog diesel eh. so depende na lang sa owner.
I prefer kasi yung fuel efficiency dahil matipid ako he he. Speed? negative
ako dyan kasi pang pamilya nga with 3 kids.

Pero preference differs ika nga. suggest test drive mo sir kasi re riding comfort?

RE: Everest... yung luma yung malakas humigop. CRDi na siya, so it should be better (the CRDi Starex, for example, is much more fuel efficient than the old turbodiesel)... pero no hard figures from owners yet (sa C! test, mas matipid yung bagong Everest kaysa sa Fortuner).

Yes, a lot of us owners have really nasty things to say about our Crosswinds... but then again, we still use them. In other words, unlovable, but utterly useful.

Noise? I can hear the clatter of our neighbor's Crosswind 2-3 houses down the block when approaching our house. That's not something that I'd want to hear while travelling 50 kms a day.

mejo malaki difference nya pag galing kayo sa kotse and totoong nakakapagod sa biyahe pag malayuan. Last weekend lang, ginamit namin 2006 sportivo ng dad ko papuntang jala-jala, rizal, 5 kaming sakay plus mga gamit, almost 2 hours one-way...mejo nakakangawit, dahil cguro sa vibration and sa talbog hehe. Next time pasahero na lang ako

OT: Wala akong reklamo sa XTRM ko lalo pag mabigat ang karga ang ganda ng takbo parang sedan Kayang-kaya ng makina ang tatlong kaban, 4 na tao + mga gamit.

Yung 1st gear at 2nd gear lang naman talaga ng Hilander/Xwind ang sobrang ingay pero sa 3rd nababawasan na ang ugong, pagdating ng 4th gear at 5th gear hindi na masyado.
